Food. Only some of the food was good. A significant amount of it was either bland tasting or had too much flavor. Some of the foods were crunchy when they're supposed to be soft and hard/overcooked on the edges. The chocolate ice cream tasted like it went bad, and the vanilla had a LOT of flavor to it. You could even smell the vanilla coming off the spoon. Even my toddler knows good food when she tastes it, and here, she had the look of uncertainty. Service. The waiter was kind and helpful but when we told am employee that the ice cream tasted funky (even a slight burning sensation to the mouth) no manager came out to try to fix the problem. Atmosphere. The decor (paintings, upholstry, furmature, etc.) Was beautiful and cultural. It was the maintenance and quality of the building that made it seem run-down. Even the bathroom doors and stall doors were awkward closing, and cleaning chemicals were on the floor next to the toilet. This makes the bathrooms UNSAFE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN. I would give a four or five star rating for the quality if the buffet was maybe around $7, but the price was an outragious $15 or so. Another restaurant in the area is AMAZING in terms of upkeep, decor, food variety and freshness, and service, (other than the fact that they have no ice cream) and is about the same price as China Fair. I don't know if the food quality was low because we arrived about an hour and 45 minutes before closing time, and they stopped cooking, but in that case they should be charging much less after a certain time. We will not...
Read moreIt was okay. Lots of seating. Would honestly say not wheelchair friendly, to get to the main Buffet you have to go through a little hallway was part of the Cold Buffet & if someone is at that part of the buffet you'd have to wait to get through with a wheelchair. The food was so so. It wasn't bad but it wasn't superb. When I go to a Chinese restaurant / Buffet usually the general Taos is spicy there's was not but I did like they had what looked to be spicy chili sauce on the side, I didn't get it as there was no sign stating what it was. There was tons of chicken options, egg rolls, chicken fried rice, white rice, Cantonese noodles, crab rangoons (they called it something other than rangoons) but on the side note they were good. A fair amount shrimp options, there was some sort of fish but I didn't catch the name as I didn't have the fish, steak with veggies & so much more that I'm not remembering all of it. For desserts they had peanut cookie? It looked like peanuts with white chocolate but I didn't get it so I'm not sure what the peanuts were covered in, Oreo cookies & what looked to be short bread cookies but might be sugar cookies, I unfortunately didn't get any desserts as I filled up on the main Buffet portion. Overall after tax my bill was $19.07 for just myself only water to drink & I feel that's...
Read morePerhaps if you changed the lackadaisical presence of your staff and shared knowledge with your servers on what "Gluten Free" really means, it would be a win win for all involved. Upon arrival, still debating to stay as it was Saturday dinner time and only a couple people there should have been our first Que! We took it one step further and addressed our concern on GF a with the main hostess upon entry & she reiterated how they can make almost anything GF. When dinner arrived after clarifying with the young man it needed to be gluten free; we were unsure if he knew what that meant but after hearing the reassurance of the hostess in the front we had faith. Dinner comes out and it has fried crust on it. This young gentleman, I felt bad for as he did his job very well and fully blame the lack of presence of the hostess whom supposedly trained him. Celiac disease is a serious issue and if your facilities lax attitude continues; you're subjecting a customer to falling extremely ill right there on your property! Do your research, train your staff of the importance, & revisit your choice of the representation of your business "your lackadaisical hostess in the front as her laziness may lead you to some...
