Sbarro — Restaurant in Garfield Township

Sbarro in the Grand Traverse Mall in Traverse City, MI is a place that my wife and I loved to go for their spinach pizza and there stromboli.

I am sad to say that after a year and a half of not being able to go there and eat, our experience at sbarro today was truly disappointing.

We walked up to the counter, looked through the glass. The pizzas looked dried out and the stromboli looked like it was sitting under the lamp for quite awhile. The Stromboli was very greasy/oily and tasted stale. There were charred bits on the underside of the food where they put it into the oven to heat it up...

The pizza, when it came out of the oven from reheating, looked drier and not very appealing at all...of course we had paid for the food before our order was completed so we just suffered with it.

Sbarro, we used to love your food. What is going on?

I understand that with the past couple of years of uncertainty, with the pandemic and all, things are not as they used to be, but to let your quality and high standards slip to such a low level is not understandable.

Sbarro, I believe that one day you will get back to the point where your food will be a joy to experience but I nor my wife will purchase your food , nor will we recommend it, in the foreseeable future...food service is a trust that, once it is shaken, cannot...

Usually have no problems with this place, the staff are great and it's good food. However today just before i ordered one of the staff members accidentally dropped the meatballs into the heating water. She asked her fellow employee to help get the tray out of the water with the tongs he was serving the food with and instead of getting a clean pair after dipping them into the water he just rinsed them off in the sink and retrieved my food with them. It was very unappealing to eat the food that was just touched with the tongs that was dipped in the heating water and I would think grabbing a clean pair would of been what would of happened usually. Like I said before the staff are great and the food is good but I'm pretty certain this is not how the employees...

Doesn’t deserve 1 star because the worker was very short with the man in front of me. He also began flirting with girls at the front of the line and didn’t take my order or the other mans when he should have. Not only was the man special needs but he was not well funded. The worker was very disrespectful and made comments to me about the man “having something up his ass”. I wouldn’t have been as mad if he hadn’t gone as far to keep explaining how the man was messed up. I was very disgusted with my visit and my burned food. I didn’t get the name of the worker but I was there may 18th...
