Del Rancho — Restaurant in Garland

I will give two stars for the friendliness of the staff. No complaints on service from them or the waitress. But, when you first walk in.. I noticed a sign to sanitize your shoes, which was odd. I’ve never seen that request, and I HOPE people aren’t touching the floor..

Disregarding that, the food was absolutely terrible. I love Tex-Mex/Mexican food and I had high hopes for this restaurant seeing the decent reviews. Usually hole-in-the-wall places are the best, which is why I gave it a chance.

The beef fajita meat appeared to be boiled and chewy, and the Pastor tasted like Ranchero Pork. My Enchiladas barely had any flavor, and the tacos weren’t good either. The only edible thing that we had was the salsa and chips. Their sweet tea tasted a bit off also. My boyfriend didn’t even take his left overs and left half of his plate after forcefully shoving a taco down and some rice. Which is VERY unusual of him.

I must add this was dinner time. I’m not trying to nitpick or be a “Karen”, but this was probably one of the worst Tex-Mex/Mexican dinners I have ever had.

I always order chilaquiles here, the red ones, so yummy!!! This is my first time coming on a Sunday and chilaquiles were above and beyond, I ordered them with 2 eggs and it was so delicious! Waitress was quick. I enjoyed my meal but my only suggestion is about the service in general, crew seem to have an attitude must of the time, the way they communicate is just so rude, they don’t smile at all and on top of that they don’t even have the respect to look at you when order or when you pay at the register. Probably they’re so stressed or behind on orders but it doesn’t look good I think. I ask for my receipt when I finished paying and the cashier said “Pos no le puchó ahí” (the POS machine gives you the option on how to get your receipt but she didn’t even give me the option to select if I wanted a receipt or not).

Again, food is awesome! My dad lives in Austin and he’s a huge fan of the “sombrero” (fajitas)...

I am so upset I can't believe I went to a place after a difficult and Stressful Day to unwind and Eat my Dinner to relax. Guess what Double the stress 1st plate wrong, 2nd plate enchilada Soup plate, took Food to go , a simple Flour Tortilla and beef Fajita Taco plate and Guess what???? Corn Tortillas instead i am beyond upset now. The other problem is notice is the charge for every little thing. They brought my husband sour cream with his tacos which he doesn't eat but we assumed it came with the plate , extra charge, extra charge for alittle grated cheese with my beans , I asked for Salsa with my tacos , they charged for Salsa and chips.....this is the fastest way to loose business.
