Garland Habitat Restore — Local services in Garland

After a couple of rescheduled pick-up attempts. Several items were picked up today. I had done a search on line and a link saying items and proceeds helped Veterans. Super, this is who I will donate to.

Just a few of the items picked up were a dinette with 6 chairs (solid oak) Lazy Boy big man recliner (showing some age), Desk (solid wood) in great shape, pictures, vacuum cleaners, speakers, small glass cabinet. The list goes on....

I had no problem donating items to help others in need but I admit I was very disturbed by a comment as we were about through loading the truck.

The lady said "we all generally fight over things first before they get a chance to go to the floor".

I believe in helping people as it is the Texan (American Way) but to donate just so employees can get first pick is WRONG.

I went ahead with the donation hoping the stuff goes to good use and...

I was first pretty impressed with this place. Some good finds, they have their sale days which is cool, the staff was super friendly. We bough something that we were aware had damage. They talked to us about the damage and we were willing to fix it. Upon getting home and assembling, it was missing all the hardware that they told us was in the box. It was kind of annoying becuase I had to spend another $15 on all the hardware. But at that point I wasn't too mad. I finally got time to assemble and it was missing 2 major pieces. When we left it seemed like all the pieces were there and we had asked if everything was there and they said ya, that the only problem was the damaged piece. We are super disappointed becuase now we are out the money that we spent becuase basically we can't do anything with the product we purchased other than see if someone wants to come pick it...

I absolutely love this location! It is a bit farther than I like to drive. None-the-less, well worth the trip! I find something each visit. I have an old house. When I say that it is the PERFECT store to repair & upgrade my home--You Can Not Go Wrong here! Needed shiplap. Paid less than $5! Needed paint supplies. Got everything I needed for under $50! EVERYTHING is well organized. Prices are priced to move! If I had space in my lil house for the $10 Red Chaise Lounge, it would be sitting in my home today. And they cleaned it! Looked new! I keep forgetting the name of the Lady that knows the store in and out. But she...
