I wanted a chicken sandwich for lunch, and that's what I got. Let me fill you in on what happened between the lines. I decided to order my lunch today through the Uber Eats app. I chose McDonald's, and went through the menu, adding various things to the cart. At the checkout, I usually go through and delete things, until I figure out exactly what I want, then place my order. Only today, my phone froze, and I tapped the screen a few times, trying to get it to work. It unfroze, but I had accidentally hit "place order". I panicked for a second, then saw the "cancel order" option come up. When you click this option, it pulls up two more options: 1. Keep the order. Or 2. Call customer support, to try to solve the problem. I called customer support, and was on hold for a few minutes before somebody picked up. All the while I'm watching the screen that says "preparing your order", hoping I can stop it in time. After giving information to verify my identity and telling the rep. what to take off the order, I was put on hold again so the customer support rep. could call the McDonald's. I waited for 5 more minutes. Order was almost ready. When the rep. gets back on the line, he tells me the "restaurant representative" stated that, as the Uber delivery driver was ALMOST to the restaurant, (Not even there yet!) I could not cancel or modify my order. I then asked why they couldn't just take out the items I didn't want, since the bag was just sitting on the counter, and the driver was not yet there. The customer service rep. for Uber told me again that there was no changing it. I then asked if I could just cancel it completely, and if they would charge me $5 (because that is the delivery price) or full price. Of course, I would be charged full price. I would rather be charged and have the food than be charged and not have any of it, so I had to keep the order. The rep. apologized and we ended the call. As I sat down at my desk, I got a "ding". A notification on my phone, stating that my order was just picked up from the McDonald's, and was on its way to being delivered. There is absolutely no reason they could not have taken the extra food out and refunded me the difference. There was plenty of time. A whole phone calls' worth of time. I suppose its partially my fault, that's what I get for ordering McDonald's, right? Never again. I hope this is read to not only stop it from happening to another person, but so maybe the "restaurant representative" will realize his decisions should be thought out before being executed, and not just blindly choosing to get on with the next problem, or whatever he did to decide my money and time was unimportant. Anyway, when the Uber delivery driver arrived, I took out the chicken sandwich for myself, and gave him the rest. Told him to have a nice day. At least something good came of the ordeal, it was the Uber drivers' lucky...
Read moreI placed an order though the mobile app and gave them my code at the drive thru, the lady gave me the wrong receipt but I wasn’t charged . I let the lady at the next window know and they said they couldn’t find my order , manager got involved but she wasn’t any help she basically accused me of trying to get free food because she asked why I took the receipt if it wasn’t my order and I told her that is why I let the lady at the window know before she handed me the food . She then said “you still need to pay” so I did but they overcharged me because I had used a code, I had brought it up with her and she basically said “I don’t know how the app works, I’m only responsible for giving you the receipt with your order” so it wasn’t her problem , how are you the manager if you don’t know how the mobile app works ? How are you running the location if you don’t understand how the technology works . I called corporate and let them know I did not appreciate her attitude, she did not try to help resolve the issue in any way. Horrible management, the other ladies are very kind but she had a nasty attitude...
Read moreI was on my way to work this morning and thought a good hot chocolate and breakfast burrito would be good on this Cold morning. Well I stopped and bought it, also purchased my coworker a meal.... Get to work and my order is not correct and my hot chocolate taste like it has been made with BAD MILK it was nasty. The worst part is I am in almost Greenville to texas and cant go back. So I call to let them know that this was a terrible experience and I am no where close to them to go back and tell her to please make it right and give me a refund so I can stop at anotger location and purchase what I ordered . Well NOPE SHE WANTED ME TO TAKE MY FOOD BACK !!!! UMMM NO I AM OVER A HOUR AWAY!!!! so they basically just stole my money because I did not get what I paid for......its not even about the money at this point ....its about integrity and customer service !!!
