Taco Cabana — Restaurant in Garland

I remember that this used to be a good place to order dine-in or carry out years ago but i guess things can’t always remain as they once were.

The food is mediocre and the price point is subpar. The service, however is lacking in every sense of the way and appears to have been for quite some time.

They used to serve actual pico de gallo with actual legit ingredients… then they switched to “you have to ask for (spicy) pico if you want to be served the actual thing… then it was switched to adding pickled jalapeños on top of a tomato/onion salad to just a tomato and onion salad. This is not even close to how it’s supposed to be?

I ordered here one evening on a whim to just see if the service and food had improved… I was wrong. The order was taken by a staff member by typing on their phone and then keyed into a register in the drive thru. Keep in mind that I and the person i was with were the only patrons inside the order somehow missed the mark as far as what was ordered and what was received. Pulled pork tacos came out as carne asada, tortillas came out as sopapillas, nachos were missing and the entire order was attempted to be corrected at least 3 times (which still ended up being incorrect) but at that point~ we had given up (shouldn’t have, because we were overcharged for what we got, but we did). This took aprx 40min to complete what we ended up leaving with.

11/24/23 - update : again , asked for no rice in my cabana bowl & it was plenty in there . 😑 the last 3 times I have not received the correct order . The order taker did take my order correct though, but it was prepared wrong . Order taker : Jillian ( I believe my receipt said ) & I only ordered 1 item ! This is crazy ! & the only car in the drive thru !!

11/3/23 - update Never fails with this taco cabana ! Ordered 2 chicken bowls , 1 with no rice . Asked for green sauce & red . Got home , 1 steak bowl 1 chicken bowl, 1 fork , no sauce . Thanks to this lady at the window . THIS IS HORRIBLE !!!!

1st Review : I asked for a cabana bowl , no rice , extra lettuce & a strawberry mango margarita . The drink was messy , over filled , sticky stuff all in my cup holder . My bowl had no beans , no rice -_- I called on the phone to tell them about the mistake & she argued with me about what I said .. MIND YOU THIS IS ALL I EVER ORDER & IM PRETTY SURE I HAVE MY ORDER DOWN !!! Little miss green dread locks has a smart mouth & doesn’t need a job working customer service if that’s her attitude .

Not my favorite location anymore! I went to the drive-thru bc I had just had a surgery so it was hard to walk. I ordered 2 special breakfast tacos(added potatoes, not that big of a deal) after waiting a very long time my order came out. Mistakenly I pulled away before I check my order because I was in a hurry I saw too many tacos in the back I knew it was not mine so I pulled in the parking lot. I was not going to go back through drive-thru as there were still at least 8 cars in it. So I got my cane and walk inside I explained that I had 4 tacos in my bag I only ordered 2 the girl at the register said oh yeah they messed up the order so she gives me another bag I looked at it it was not correct either plus I was charged for 4 instead of 2. Just very frustrated at this point and not in a good mood I finally got a mgr she finally brings me the correct order but I had no hot sauce and no napkins in the bag and still didn't get everything on the amount they owed me.
