A New Gem in Garland – Taco Y Vino!

Just had the pleasure of visiting Taco Y Vino on their soft opening, and I’m already counting the days until my next visit! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was welcoming and fun. Preston, who was both our bartender and waiter, went above and beyond—friendly, accommodating, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great time. The owner even stopped by to chat, making us feel like old friends.

Though the full menu isn’t out yet, everything we tried was fantastic. We started with the avocado tostadas—fresh, flavorful, and the perfect kickoff to the meal. Next up: birria tacos, a fried burrito, and elotes. Each dish was delicious and made with obvious care. And just when we thought we couldn’t eat another bite, out came the mini churros, fresh from the oven—warm, crispy, and the perfect sweet ending to our meal.

The space itself is just as memorable. There’s a great patio out front, but don’t miss the hidden gem of a patio in the back—can’t wait to see it at night or enjoy it when the weather cools down. Plus, the BYOV (Bring Your Own Vinyl) nights sound like a blast—imagine sharing your favorite records while sampling amazing food and drinks!

My sister and I visited the Garland location this past Thursday evening and we sat at the bar and no one was there it was just us and three other tables and a group outside. There was a girl behind the bar and another girl came up a little bit later and she came into the bar area. Left and we sat there for 15 minutes at the bar and not one person said hello. Glad you stopped by. Can we help you? It was awful. We were completely ignored! Needless to say we left not one person said hello and they were not busy. The girl behind the bar was just on her phone the whole time and didn’t even acknowledge us. No one acknowledge us. Went in “just cause” was immediately greeted . Sat at the bar , chilled and watched wrestling in my phone. The servers were fans so that was a quick bond and a comfortable feel. Ordered the fried calamari - amazing and the smoked mezcal amazing. Would definitely go again and try the tacos . A good chill , wine...
