Jimmy John's — Restaurant in Gastonia

Staff was friendly. Clean and nice interior. I do have to complain about my lunch though. The bread was not fresh AT ALL. Tasted like day(s) old bread or it may have been overcooked, either way, I’ve had a lot better at other locations. I ordered a beach club and added onions and hot peppers, the cashier and I even had a whole discussion on the hot peppers. It didn’t take long to get my sandwich, although I thought it was odd I got my order before the people that ordered before me, but I made sure I wasn’t taking someone else’s order. I guess mine came out quick because it was missing ingredients…. I get back to work, 15 minutes away, starving and ready to eat my favorite sandwich and I am about half way into half of it and realized my sandwich did not include my add ons and they didn’t even put the guacamole on the sandwich even though it’s a MAIN ingredient. I called and they put a credit on my account, but I honestly don’t want to go back. They don’t even take online orders, which I understand why they don’t, that store would go out of business pretty quick due to the refunds they’d have to do. There was about 3-4 people at the sandwich line and they still couldn’t get it right. Plus it wasn’t busy at all… this was the most bland sandwich I have gotten at Jimmy John’s. I usually don't do these reviews, but today I am. I placed an order at 11:10am today (8/18/2021). I called to check on my order since it was 30 mins later and was told that the person that took the order had put it as a pick up. I explained that I wanted it to be delivery. So that person that I talked to put me on hold and then came back and said that my order will be sent out. The order never came so I called back at 12:44 p,m., this time as I was explaining that I was checking on my order. I was put on hold again and a manager was put on the phone. Manager name (Jason), I explained to him what was going on. I stated to him that I have never had any problems with ordering from Jimmy John's that this was the first time. I explained what has happened and he told me that the order was cancelled out. He asked if I wanted the order still, I said yes and I also stated that (if) I was to do a review that it would be a bad review due to all the problems that I was having and he stated "Do what you go to do and then hung up the phone on me. When I tried to call back they hung up and didn't bother to say anything. The driver came to deliver the food and stated that they have been messing all morning so far. I don' know what's goinng on over there maybe need...

JJ probably makes the best sandwiches/subs around. The bread is definitely the best. This location is good, but can be a challenge to spot if you're driving to it. It is after the Gaston Vet on the right if heading West. Getting out of the location, especially if you need to turn left (East) back towards Charlotte can be a challenge. This locations hours might be shortened. Be sure to check with them beyond the hours potentially listed with Google. We were unaware of that with one of our recent visits. I believe, at the time, they closed at 6pm). We arrived 15 minutes prior. You could tell the staff were in hopes of shutting down for the day when we came in. We were served for take out, but could tell they were exhausted. We were grateful to get what we could.
