Miss Mary's — Restaurant in Gentry

I heard they had really great breakfast there and there was a lot of people eating breakfast there. However I had lunch I had a chicken fried steak fried okra and they did not have any mashed potatoes and gravy so I had french fries. French fries were really cheap and hard to chew. The chicken fried steak was some pre-cooked Frozen generic I don't know what it was but it was horrible it was awful the most gross thing I ever ate in my life. The only reason I did eat it is because I was starving to death and I had somewhere to go and I did not have time to stop and go somewhere else. I was also seated right at the front door so I was freezing cold the whole time I sat there and my food got cold really quick also. There were other tables to sit at but for some reason the waitress told me I could set in a booth that was in the corner that had another table sitting almost directly in front of it that was dirty and needed to be cleaned or I could sit at the table that was right by the front door. I chose the clean table. There were several other tables and booths that were open and available and clean so I'm not sure what the deal with that was. However I believe in giving a restaurant more than one chance. If I'm ever over in that part of town again I will be sure to go in and this time I will try the breakfast. Visited Miss Mary's for breakfast on 7/30/19 with wife, friend and family members... The restaurant is pleasant, clean, basic diner type atmosphere. Our waitress was Casey who was very friendly, knowledgable with the menu and very attentive during our visit and checked up on us multiple times. I had the veggie omelet with sausage, hash browns, sourdough toast, 2 sides of bacon. The omelet was excellent, bacon was cook just right, the sourdough toast tasted like regular bread but was still good. The hash browns were slightly undercooked but still good. Sweet iced tea was just right as far as sweetness level. Everyone else enjoyed there dishes thoroughly. Ate at this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend and I am grateful to her for recommendation. Good food, good service, good prices.... Just what you would expect from a "Mom and Pop" type diner !!!! We will make this restaurant one of our stops whenever we are here in MW Arkansas visiting friends and family. They are NEVER open! I live right down the road, and I can't hardly ever get in cause their hours are so odd and when it says open, they are not! I love y'alls food but you NEED to do better on your hours and when you are actually open....oh hey try the weekends too cause parents dont wanna cook on the weekends after going full go mode during the week when everyone is off for the weekend we wanna go out to eat so try staying open on the weekends I bet you'd make money. No one wants to drive to siloam just to go to ihop. (It sucks)...we want real food, and you are the only place in gentry to go to regularly. Just please fix y'alls hours.I know you are losing ppl and money by not doing it. Tons of ppl are willing to work the weekend, hire them.
