Today we traveled through Georgetown Kentucky on vacation. I go out of my way to look for a little mom and pop breakfast places. But today I saw something interesting in of all things a chain restaurant named First Watch. From the menu I looked at online I noticed the recipe’s seemed different and unusual. More higher end. We were pleasantly greeted by the hostess who made sure we were happy with our table. Our waitress Grace was new and worked with her trainer Hailey. Actually I would’ve never known she was just staring as she was very good and efficient and has excellent customer skills. When our orders came out we were very impressed with the presentation. The recipes were indeed as I suspected different than any other breakfast we’ve ever had. I got Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos. They had Cage free scrambled eggs, Cajun chicken, chorizo cheddar and Monterey Jack topped with fresh avocados and homemade pico the Gallo. I had the roasted potatoes instead of black beans. The potatoes were seasoned well (not bland like I’ve become accustomed to. And they were cooked perfectly. And the three wheat breakfast tacos were excellent. My wife got the Brisket Corn Beef Hash with roasted sweet potatoes(my wife’s favorite potato” peppers and onions, two eggs, Parmesan cream sauce with herbs. She also said it was excellent. At 67 it was one of the best breakfast experiences I’ve had in my life. First thank you to the cook who you can tell cares by what was served to us. Thank you Grace and Haley for taking the time to talk with us, and others I interacted with but didn’t get their name. How refreshing a clean and inviting environment to eat breakfast. Thank you Grace and Haley for taking the time to talk with us, and thank you to the Hostess that I failed to get her name.
If you’re tired of the boring same thing I really recommend giving this place a...
Read moreHORRIBLE server je#@&;er this past visit today I have to change this review to a 1 star, sat over 10 minutes with no one acknowledging us and she comes over and doesn't apologize, she actually made multiple trips to a table 2 away from us and nothing, she then messed up multiple times and then came to ask is everything ok/do you need anything after 2 of us were finished for a while, just a horrible server, which sucks as we've been to this place 20+ times in the last year.... But never again
Eaten here twice sit down and once to go... Polite and great when entering each time, quick first service as who greets you is your server so pretty cool that they have designed that system, had the million dollar bacon both sit down times and they were completely opposite as the first time didn't seem to be any syrup at all and the dish was great but then this last visit the pig was drowning in the syrup, I ordered the morning healthy drink with a shot of the antioxidant and vitamins, it did take almost 15 minutes to get the drink ( which there's no excuse for and I'll probably never order it again with that wait plus it was super sweet so who knows exactly what's in their and no idea on the amount of grams of sugar ).... Besides that the food on a wide scale is very good... I'll be back again of course and hopefully no future issues as it really is a great spot and great food but they just need to cleanup...
Read moreWe came at lunch time on a weekend, which seems like the peak time here. I wonder if they were woefully understaffed, or poorly managed, or both. We had to wait a while to get in, which is understandable during the lunch rush, but most of the wait was for a table to be cleared off. There were several empty tables that just needed to be bussed. We went to the bathroom, and the stalls were out of toilet paper (but we found extra rolls in the bathroom- they just weren’t on the dispensers.) When our table was cleared, we waited a while for our server to come, then a while for our food, then we realized no one had given us silverware, so we waited a while for our server to come back, then we asked her for silverware. Then we waited a while and it never came, so we asked the hostess, and she told us they didn’t have any and they were rolling some more. After we were finally able to eat, we waited a while for our check- it was a pretty long meal because of the aforementioned events. But the server was really friendly and the food was delicious. Our order was accurate when it finally came. I understand they were busy, but having worked in a restaurant before, I saw a lot of things that weren’t efficient or good customer service. I might come back, but I will probably wait a while...
