Went in for lunch yesterday at 11:00 A M. (Our 2nd time to visit this restaurant since moving to Georgetown in August 2020) The restaurant was just opening and we were one of the first in the door. The hostess asked the manager before we requested the table who to seat us with - Keith or Dwayne. We asked for a table not a booth. When we made our request, she said that we would then be seated with Keith.
Keith came and took our order for drinks, brought them out and took our food order. I wouldn't say he was the most friendly waiter we have ever had but seemed cordial enough. We said "Thank you" to him when he brought out our drinks and he stated "No problem". Shortly after, he brought out a salad for my husband and some bread. By that time a table for a large party was being set up by him and a couple other employees of the restaurant. Our food was brought out by another member of the wait staff. We ate our meal, which, we thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the salmon with steamed broccoli and my husband ordered the chopped steak with mushroom/onion/brown gravy and a baked potato. The food was cooked perfect and was very good. From that point on Keith didn't visit our table again as he was concentrating his efforts to the large party and a few other tables. He did walk by us a couple of times, but did not look our way or stop to see if we needed refills on our drinks or anything else. Finally, after being finished with our meal for at least 10 minutes and waiting patiently for our ticket, a young lady came by and asked if she could take our plates away and said she would get our ticket for us. Keith then came (was in a hurry) and left the ticket and my husband asked him for a tea to go which he said he would get, but disappeared again. After another 5-8 minutes, the same young lady came by and picked up our ticket along with the cash to pay for our meal and said she would get it taken care of. She came back by and stated that Keith would have to be the one to cash us out so we waited for Keith another 5 minutes or so to bring the tea and our change. Finally he came back with the change but never mentioned the to go drink he was going to get for us. The point here is that although the food was very good, the service was lacking which totally ruined the experience we had at Longhorn Steakhouse. It takes both GOOD FOOD AND GOOD SERVICE. We understand that Keith was busy with the large party but to be acknowledged when he passed by that couple of times would have been nice. And when we say "Thank you" for someone giving us service, their response should not be "No problem". What does that mean? That it wasn't all that much trouble? Or, that service is a problem to be solved. Doing something for someone in the line of duty or out of the goodness of one's heart is not a problem to be solved. And when someone expresses that gratitude for the gesture, it is customary to acknowledge that you were happy to extend the pleasure. NOT THAT IT WASN'T TOO BAD, WHICH IS TO SAY...
Read moreOur visit on 5-15-25 was subpar. We were greeted and sat at a booth. Our waitress “Alicia” was very welcoming as usual. We placed our order salad/baked potato no bacon/sweet potato. Pork chops and mashed potatoes. When the order arrived the baked potato was loaded with bacon. Rather than sending that potato back I kept it to consume it for dinner with my second pork chop. My pork chops were over cooked and the baked potatoes were not cooked properly. We were in a time crunch so we didn’t request that the situation be corrected. We advised Alicia of the situation and left. This is not the first time that cooks have misread the order it seems to be a consistent issue. We have been loyal customers for five years and have seen a steady decline in quality of food and kitchen staff’s professionalism/caring for the product that are sending to the customer. I’m sad to say but the prep and quality of food was better during the height of COVID. I would like the company/facility to be proactive rather reactive to the situation. On 5-20-25 my wife and I returned to this location While on my way to the restroom I stumbled over a rug that had been placed coming out from the kitchen. I stopped and put the rug back in position. On my return from the restroom I noticed that the edges were curled up enough to create a tripping hazard. I warned various servers to be careful. I then saw the manager “Sandy” behind the bar and advised her of the situation. I was surprised by her reaction, she just rolled her eyes and walked away without rectifying the trip hazard. I would think that a manager would have been more concerned for her...
Read moreCame for early afternoon dinner on a weekend, and boy are we glad we made a reservation! Even as early as it was, you could barely get past all the people crowding the walkway, the entrance, and the lobby who were waiting for a table.
Thanks to our reservation we were seated in about 15 mins, and our server arrived quickly. She was very pleasant and helpful with recommendations, and soon returned with drinks, bread, and the shrimp appetizer which was decent, if a bit salty.
Wife and I each ordered the "special" ribeye, and kids ordered the kids meal steak. Food arrived in reasonable time, everything was hot and looked good. Overall, cocktails were meh, sides were on par, but we were disappointed in the streaks.
This "special" ribeye was cooked to order, but was WAY overseasoned, and was a terrible cut. I like a good marbling as much as anyone, but AT LEAST half the steak was pure fat. Basically half of the $25+ per steak price tag was left inedible on each of our plates. For a steakhouse, this is unacceptable.
Funny enough, the kids meal steak was awesome. Nice cut of meat with just the right amount of fat. Both the wife and I said we should have ordered that and saved about $35.
The brightest spot was our server, who through it all was super friendly, attentive, and even brought us a free desert to compensate for the steak issues.
Overall not a terrible experience, but next time we'll save ourselves the drive and a whole lot of money, and just seek some good steaks from the local butcher to...
