While I do really love the food here, I have to say the ordering process could be better. Every time I order something always seems to go wrong especially when ordering online. When I go to the order online site and try to put what I want on my bowl, something is always left out or misplaced. The format is so confusing. For example on some of the topping options it’ll say: no tomato which one would assume means you’d want your salad sans tomato but then right after it’ll say red onion by it self to add it. When I was making my order I chose not to click no tomato because I wanted the tomatoes added but it still was never added. When I did no yogurt, it remained on added though. This happened with a few other toppings on the other salad. It was all mismatched and messed up. This confusion could be clear up if the site just stated click what you want to be added to you salad. This would make for a much better experience altogether not to mention when ordering in person this way (the current confusing way) is so clearly confusing to the workers who make the bowls when they ask do you want everything included and you say no then they have to go through the long list of toppings! A customer should just be able to come order (no matter if online or in person) and say I want this, this, and this on my bowl. Better wording could be used that is all!! It may seem like a small unimportant thing but it can have a big effect on the customers order. I hope changes can...
Read moreDefinitely 5-Stars worth of kebob goodness! Stopped by The Kabob Shop on the last day of this event. First clue the place is good, I walked in mid-afternoon and it was crowded. Second clue the place is good, lots of take-out orders going out the door while I waited for my food, about 15 minutes.
I picked up an extra San Diego kebob for sharing at home, and the check-in provided 50% off crave fries. On the way out, I grabbed sample of all three sauces. Every staff member with whom I interacted was super happy and pleasant.
The San Diego Kebob is a crazy good combo of carved lamb and beef, pickled onions, feta cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and french fries! Delicious! and, HUGE, easily enough for two meals. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned very well. All other ingredients were super fresh! Of the three sauces, the fiery chili red sauce was my favorite, followed by the green cilantro jalapeno. The yogurt sauce was good, but not my favorite.
The crave fries were unique, hot fries, feta cheese and pickled red onions, a very tasty dish. Couldn't wait until I got home to start on the fries, the car was smelling way too good. All who shared the fare were in agreement with the 5-star rating. We'll definitely stop by when in the area. Highly recommend...
Read moreFOLLOW UP REVIEW: The response from the owner makes it even worse. They keep stating it is a prep issue for 90% of the negative reviews. That canned answer, is not an answer. You can have my back, but I would rather you have my taste buds or my wallet in consideration. The only positive I can say is that the place was clean and they use fresh ingredients, but unfortunately the lack of overall flavor, puts this place now down to a one rating after I think about it. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Not kebabs, not gyros, not worth the price. I get they are going for a California version of something like a Kabob, but still fail miserably. While the ingredients were fresh, definitely not flavorful. The chicken while well spiced and cooked well, can not carry a wrap or a bowl, and definitely not for the price point. Very little garlic aioli and too much cilantro. The kebab fries were probably the best thing we ate, but again for the price, just way over priced. Put it like this, in Spain I can get two kebob wraps for the same price as one at The Kebab Shop. It would be worth the cost of airfare instead visiting this...
