I stayed on Thursday night, and the property was very quiet. It appears and smells new and is convenient to downtown Georgetown. However, my experience was very negative. To start, my guest room floor wasn't clean with trash to the side of the bed. The bathroom floor was dirty and sticky with shoe prints, and the toilet and toilet seat was not clean with fecal stains. The window shade over the desk would not open. It was almost as if someone briefly stayed in the room, left, and no employee checked it after... At breakfast time, 30 minutes before close, the buffet area was a disaster, several food options not replenished, garbage and food waste immediately next to the food stations. There wasn't even drinking water... The worst issue was when I returned to my room to shower, all running water was off! When I went down to the front desk, the attendant simply shrugged her shoulders, pointing to workers outside, stating there was a burst pipe. She reacted as if I was supposed to already be aware of the situation, and she didn't care. There was no proper communication around this issue and no alternate accommodations offered. I went to the gym to kill time in hopes the matter would soon be addressed, but the gym thermostat was set at a sauna temperature that could not be adjusted. It was so uncomfortable... I ultimately left after cleaning my room toilet that would not flush, without a shower, without any accommodation or even apology for the lack of running water. There is a serious lack of proper training and communication at this very new hotel. This was a...
Read moreMy husband and I were able to stay at the Residence Inn in Georgetown during the first couple of weeks it opened. And our stay spanned a two week stay (hubby work travel). For a short rundown, the rooms are spacious and well/comfortably furnished, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the shared areas are cozy, beautiful, and calm. For a more lengthy breakdown. Everyday breakfast was prepared by Cassandra, I was greeted with a smile and genuinely one of the most delicious hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Front desk associates Matt, Tasha, and Cornelius went above and beyond to get us anything we needed, provide information on services we were confused or needed clarification on, and even, at one point, relocating us to a more comfortable room when our breaker malfunctioned in our first accommodation. Chiquera (gods I hope I spelled that correctly) was our housekeeper, and she was always sweet, conversational, never invasive, and provided everything we needed and more to keep our stay comfortable. We really love the more "at home" vibe of Residence Inn, and will likely make it our go-to for hotel stays for travel in the future, and that is largely due to the hospitable, friendly, and attentive staff of this location. Sincerely, I hope you give this place a chance if you're looking for a...
Read moreI reserved a room on the website and suspected the property might be new because there were no pictures posted yet. But I was totally surprised when I checked in and the hotel had only been open for just a couple of hours, a brand new property. I was a little leery about this because there are always glitches in a new property. But everything was perfect. The person at the front desk had experience in the hospitality industry, and had a welcome gift awaiting us on arrival. We stayed on the fourth floor in an absolutely immaculately clean room. It's easy to overlook bits of drywall dust or maybe pictures that weren't hung correctly but this room was a showcase. The beds were comfortable (a signature Marriott goal), and everything worked as expected.||But what about the breakfast in the morning. Would it live up to expectations? Yes! Delicious eggs, sausage, ham-cheese-omelet sandwiches, waffle irons, cereal, juice and hot coffee. A really nice spread. They even had cold brewed coffee available. This property will be a welcome addition to Georgetown. Well done,...
