My wife and I dined here last weekend after struggling to settle on a restaurant. We were worried that 6:00pm may have resulted in a long wait, but we were pleasantly surprised to have no wait time at all. All of the staff were both kind and professional. I ordered the filet mignon hibachi while my wife ordered the steak and chicken combination hibachi so that we were able to compare the difference between cuts. We both ordered medium rare. Both steaks were perfectly seasoned. There is a sweetness to the flavor (hint of teriyaki) that matches well with the savory rice. You can definitely taste the difference in tenderness in the filet, but the steak was so well seasoned and tender enough that I would not go out of my way again to try the filet again. My wife's combination deal was of incredible value given the quantity of steak and chicken provided. The filet is more expensive than the combination, and had less quantity than the steak half that she received. We expected the combination to be half portions due to the price, but it was nearly full order quantities of both steak and chicken. We have dined at hibachi locations in Lexington that did not offer the same level of value. The chef preparing the meal was both entertaining and talented. There were several kids at our table, and he interacted with them with ease. The "wows" on their faces as he did tricks made the meal even better. I give Sapporo 5 stars for the experience, and I believe you...
Read moreFirst visit. The workers were amazing! All were so very friendly. Our chef was super funny and talented. And our waiter Mooli (I'm probably spelling it wrong) was as tentative and kind as he could be. He remembered I said it was my daughter's birthday and left us to open gifts. Then he must have been watching when I opened her little cake and came out with the help of another waiter, played the drum and sang a funny Happy Birthday song with us.
This was my daughter's 19th birthday. Our first without a bigger extended family home gathering and big homemade cake. Though I know we are so very lucky and thankful in life, it was still a bit sad thinking of years passed, life changes and other family not with us.
These kind people, without knowing any of this, still helped make this birthday happy and memorable. Even though they've probably done the same silly things and sang the song many times before, they still made it new and genuine and special for us.
You never know what others are experiencing in life, and how your words and actions, and interactions may do to make such a difference.
Thanks to Mooli (sorry for spelling if wrong) and our great Chef for an unexpected nice special birthday gathering.
PS - Oh, and as a side note the food was AMAZING! Absolutely delicious.
(I hope the owner treats you well!!!!.And the tip went the...
Read moreEasily the best Japanese experience in the region. The various hibachi chefs working there represent differing degrees of experience and skill (the one we nicknamed Antonio is the best; they dont wear nametags), but they are all good at their art and will give you a good show and amazing food. The aesthetic and atmosphere is a little cheap and homemade looking, but for how amazing the food is, how fun the show is, you'll never even notice. You will be requested to have your full party present before they will seat you at the hibachi grills, so be prepared for that, but once seated you are promptly served a delectable mushroom broth soup and light ginger dressing topped salad to tie you over while your order is taken and your hibachi chef prepares your experience. You can also order a great hot tea (which I believe is a type of hojicha) or from a wide variety of wines and beers, as well as from their sushi and bento bar (which you can order from and eat at seperately from the hibachi but I personally have never done). The hibachi is the main attraction, and while expensive, is worth every penny and should be a stop you make if you arent in Georgetown very often and are looking for something special...
