Between DoorDash and Smokey MO’s I’m done doing business with both. I placed an order through Smokey’s website directly over a month ago. DoorDash sent a driver somewhere off track from the address that was provided (I gave documentation as proof), communicated this with the driver, sent her pictures etc.. they cancelled my order, and never refunded my $35… I spoke to both companies, in which they both pointed the finger at each other for the responsibility of issuing the refund…. Smokey’s says they’ll email door dash, attached me to the email, and never reached back out to me…this was a week ago… I gave it a few days, and reached back out via email to check on the status. They then respond with a response sent back the same day they originally sent the request stating door dash will not be issuing a refund due to the window to request a refund being closed…. They tell me they will be discussing the matter with corporate tomorrow (which was now yesterday) and yet again, no follow through… I’m having to fight to get MY money back for a meal I never received due to no reason of my own…. This should not have gone on this long. Good business practices seem to be few and far between these days…. If you decide to do business with them, just go in person if you can and don’t ever consider requesting delivery unless you want to waste money on food you’ll never receive.
**Update, I reached out to the owner via their request below and within an hour I received my refund. I wish it didn’t require so much effort but they have...
Read moreSmokey Mo's is a Smokey NO in my book. To be fair, we got takeout at 8:30 and they closed at 9. However, none of my issues were related to the closing time. The service was fast and efficient. We got brisket, burnt ends, and sausage. The sides we tried were potato salad, green beans, and mac n cheese. Everything came served with slices of white bread. My biggest complaint is that nothing we ate was restaurant quality. Nothing tasted fresh or homemade. Nothing was special or stood out. Nothing demanded we eat here again. The meat was lacking in flavor. It needed the BBQ sauce. BBQ should never NEED the sauce. The potato salad was lacking seasoning, flavorless, overly sauced, and wasn't made from scratch. The green beans weren't fresh or seasoned either. The only comment my son made about the mac n cheese was that it was creamy. The pickles, obtained from a self-service bar, tasted like they had been sprayed with Fabuloso. It was a weird flowery flavor. My son thought the pickles were fine. The biggest disappointment for me was the banana pudding. It was almost orange in color, thick like paste... not pudding consistency. Two small slivers of banana were on top of the pudding, and it was topped with Cool Whip. This was a disgrace to banana pudding. Grannies all over the South are clutching their pearls at this failed attempt. I would not willingly eat here again. There is an abundance of fabulous BBQ in Texas, specifically, in the Austin area. This isn't it. Give your tastebuds something to be excited about and skip...
Read more-The brisket is just OK.. nothing to write home about. The bbq sauce is decent, the “spicy” sauce isn’t spicy at all, I could hardly tell the difference between normal and spicy except for the color of the sauce. -Service was disappointing.. I was there on a lunch break, so didn’t have a lot of time.. unfortunately after I ordered, the cook took like 10 minutes to chat and argue with other staff members instead of sticking my food on a plate..(how hard is it to just move the food from the tray to my plate? It’s not like they are actually cooking anything right then..) I had to stand by the counter and act annoyed before someone decided to do their actual job, (and even then the younger staff member had to reach around the older guy with the tongs (who was still busy chatting w/ another staff member) to get my food. ). We were really the only customers in the place.. so it’s not like there was any reason they couldn’t have the food up within moments of receiving the order… PRO TIP: be more respectful of people’s time if they are willing to drive to your restaurant and spend money there.. it’s...
