Everything started off great and spiraled down quickly. We had just driven 12 hours and were in need of a good meal and some adult beverages. We were greeted, seated upstairs and our order taken within a few minutes, everyone was super friendly. Then it all stopped. We finished our drinks and then sat there... another waitress came by for another table and I asked her to please send ours because we needed another round of drinks. Ours had been empty for over 10 minutes.
Our food came, delivered by another person and still no waitress for the drinks. Another waitress finally showed up and told us our waitress was no longer there and that we could have asked any other waitress. I told her that we did and the other girl said ok and walked off. She then told us that they were super busy downstairs, which translated to me as... We really don't care about you guys up here.
Once we were pretty much done with all of our food, she showed up with another round. She told us that the "manager" was giving us a 30% discount.
She disappeared again for an extended period of time and my wife finally had to go downstairs and find her for us to close out.
Once the bill came , the discount was $12 off of about $120. I asked her again that she said it was a 30% discount and she replied yes. I'm not real good at math but I'm pretty sure that's not 30%. I gave up at this point...
With that being said, the service to begin with was great for the first 10 minutes, the food was average but not anything special. I probably would have given it four stars if we hadn't had issues with...
Read moreWe went 2 nights in a row. We loved much of the service from the hostesses to the waitstaff and bar. There was great live music both nights. The only reason it's not a full 5 is the second night. We weren't very hungry, so we planned to split an entree, and 99% of the time we tip at least 30%, especially if we're splitting so the server doesn't feel like we were an inconsiderate table for not having separate meals.
When we got sat, we were at the back wall, and there was a vent that spurted out water on the table after we got our drinks and ordered our food. Our original server recommended one of the best drinks I've ever had, and we thought she was nice. Unfortunately, the vent and the threat of water spurting out on our plates or drinks made us lose our appetite and so we asked for the check. We think us politely asking for the check and a to-go box so soon after getting our food might have offended her, because another server brought and picked up the check after that (it wasn't as busy as the first night, so we were confused by the change and thought asking would be awkward for the newer server). The drinks, music, and general interactions with the staff both nights were fantastic, and we enjoyed everything else...
Read moreGreat bar and grill. I looked at the menu before we arrived to get a feel for the type of food and I was instantly stuck between so many good options. I arrived initially just to support my brother in law play in the Lauren Marie band and the crowd was thick. The place is 2 levels and each has a long porch so whether you sit on the top or bottom floor, outside is the perfect place to hear the band and catch a breeze. Before we got there people in the surroundings shops told us their favorite foods from there. I finally settled on the shrimp po boy and it did not disappoint! The shrimp were seasoned well and the sandwich had plenty of lettuce, tomato, onion and a tangy tartar sauce and I opted for onion rings which were thin and fried perfectly. My husband ordered the bbq burger with fries and he devoured it all. Our waitress was super nice and very fast despite being swamped. No complaints about the food or service. If you're ever in St. Simons Island give this place a try.
