The food here was 🔥🔥🔥! I was in love at first bite. Nice homey environment and great customer service. The owner of the restaurant cooked my food and took time to sit down and talked to me while I ate. Very friendly lady and I enjoyed her time and her welcoming spirit. As we talked, I brag on the food exaggeratedly (because bro, if you tasted what I tasted, you would too) and she had such a humbled spirit. When I left, I felt like I met a new friend. My first visit to Calabash Alley was on Friday, April 25th. I had the jerk fish (tilapia) with rice & peas, cabbage and a couple of slices of plantain. I also had a sorrel to drink. The food was delicious and the drink refreshing. The jerk seasoning was spicy, as expected, but didn't overpower my taste buds. Everything was very well prepared and the service, which was provided by the owner/chef, was excellent; she is very kind and gracious. Some people will eat anything and be satisfied. The curry chicken tasted like water. The curry powder wasn't cooked and no love was put into preparation. Literally tasted like boiled chicken with curry powder sprinkled in. Why do we accept minimal and then praise it? I have accepted that people dont know what cooked food it supposed to taste like.
