In my opinion, Fish or pancakes wrapped in wax paper, should not be placed on top of hot creamy grits, the paper has wax film that melts and I can taste even it, if I open the plate 20 minutes later the paper even melts to the point of it being ripped apart. Even researched it, some say wax paper is toxic, some say it's not. Even food safe wax paper is not biodegradable. Wax paper is made of petroleum based materials, contains bisphenol and that chemical links to cancer, diabetes, obesity, heart disease and reproductive problems. Wax paper is intend for cookies, breads, even ok with fried foods, not for hot liquids, soups, or creamy sauces, the wax film melts on hot creamy foods or soups and continued wax consumption is not good. I definitely dont think it is good to place fish on wax paper on window counter then, move it to a lower countertop wrap it and then placed on top of hot grits is not good. Safeserv would call it cross contamination. I would at least use a tray for that transfer so that it would not look unsanitary, and or simply place wrapped foods outside of the tray or food containers. When I made that simple request last week, a Latin lady opened the box unwrapped the fish and let the fish slide into the hot grits. Didnt want the wax paper on the grits then, I know the fish would be soggy by the time I got home. I asked that the order to be made again, another latin lady a manager said no they would not remake it. I explained the problem then asked for a refund, tried to pay for the sandwich that was already made and was asked to leave. I wish when other races come to the black community to do business, that they would never do anything that could be potentially harmful to anyone. Then get mad and put people out when they ask for better. I Listened to talk radio after leaving there, and the discussion was to support black owned businesses. So I drove a little further up to 6007 Memorial drive to get my son's favorite chicken biscuits from Angie's Place, it's black owned, she treats and respects her customers and the chicken biscuits are amazing, better than chick fil a. My son was so excited when I got home. I spend over $300.00 a month on breakfast alone and gutbusters is the closest to me, I guess they loss a good...
Read moreRecently experienced terrible customer service during Covid Pandemic and gas shortage. Purchased lunch for our staff 2 consecutive days from this location. The 1st day was pleasant which caused us to return on day 2. We purchased meals for a staff crew so both days a total of $30-$40 was spent on food. On 2nd day there was a minor issue with an additional add on purchase to a meal. The order was picked up but the add- on that was paid for was not included in the order. We were asked if we could come back to get it because it was already paid for. My only request was to be compensated by making fresh fries for my order since I had to #1 drive back there during a worldwide gas shortage and #2 it was already paid for prior to my leaving. I was told no they would not make me anything because the price I paid for the add-on was "only $.50" so they felt that the value of my service to be satisfied was not worth their troubles. So I ended up with cold food and 2 trips to get food that should've been correct on the 1st trip. I asked for Manager's information which nobody would give me so I got the info on my own. I reached out to the manager of this establishment (Mr. P) and was told by another customer service rep at this 2nd location (Flat Shoals) that he would give me a call back. I called back prior to their closing time because I had not heard back and the rep assured that she had given him the message and he would definitely call me back. It has been 4 days and no contact from management. I say this to say that I will never go back. I was told I only paid $.50 wayyyy too many times after I had spent $70 there in the course of 2 days. #1 I paid you and it still wasn't there it doesn't matter how much because you made the prices right?, #2 again you were paid and I was not...
Read moreI begrudgingly write this review because in the first maybe 3 times I tried GB I was impressed with the taste and serving size of everything save the potatoes. Flavorless unseasoned stay away from them. But after the first couple visits the quality of the food was visibly different. I order a beef sausage egg and cheese sandwich and the sausage was visibly oxidated from being exposed to air too long. If you have no knowledge of what that is you could still tell that a red sausage shouldn’t be changing colors. To make a long story short the cashier looked at it and insisted that it was grilled that’s why it looked a sickly brownish color. Her only suggestion was that I could buy another sausage. She really said that to me. So I took a break for at least a couple months, and decided to comeback to try them again today and got a Pattie egg and cheese sandwich, which the patties were so old and dry I could hardly finish them. I payed my money, that’s really the only reason I ate the first one but I couldn’t eat the second one. My stomach has been turning flips ever since. At this point I’m just praying i don’t get sick. GB stop selling people old food! Just because you throw it back on the grill doesn’t mean it’s fresh! You’re gonna hurt someone! A real shame. This place could have been a gem but no one shows any care or makes accommodations for the ancient food I was served and they definitely made a policy of no return based on the practice of recooking old food and serving it no...
