From beginning to end this place was horrible and intimidating to say the least. The staff, including the manager, made you feel like you were bothering them. I went to the DQ @ 127 Altama Connector and ordered 1 small Resse's Blizzard and 1 small Snickers Blizzard (order AABASLQAEJEH). When I got to the order speaker, I heard a man talking but could not hear him clearly. Since this happens so much at many drive thrus, I began giving my order when he stopped talking. After my order, he told me I can go ahead and give my order. I told him I thought he was talking to me because his microphone was on, and I could hear him. He nastily said "No, I wasn't, but go ahead with your order anyway." I almost left but decided to order. I gave my order and drove to the pay/pickup window. I paid and the girl gave me both blizzards, one at a time but she did not turn them upside down. I reminded her that if the server does not turn the blizzards upside down, they are free. She answered by saying she was a new employee. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager turned out to be the male who was talking so much with his co-worker, he forgot to turn the mic off on his headset. That was what caused the confusion and the nasty comment from him in the beginning. He came to the window as if he was being bothered. I mean he looked very annoyed. I mean, he gave me a look like I was doing something wrong. That was very intimidating for such a nice place that serves ice cream. I was the only car on the drive thru and there were maybe 3 customers inside, already sitting down so I don't know why he was so annoyed. When he came to the window, he just stared at me and did not say anything or ask how he could help me as a manager would. I told him that when we were served our blizzards, the server did not turn either one of them upside down and that they should be free for that. He paused and said, "SHE'S NEW" and began to walk away. When he turned away from the window, I asked if he did not teach her about this. He turned around and said he has only been there 5 months himself and walked away faster than last time so I could not talk to him anymore. I guess this is DQ management not being accountable for their actions, or lack thereof. I will make sure to tell all my family and friends not to go there anymore. Besides getting gipped on their own slogan, management there does not properly train their new hires and then make excuses for mistakes and short comings. Do not go to the DQ on Altama in Brunswick, GA. You will not be treated like a paying customer. You will be treated as someone who is annoying the staff and then you will be intimidated so you will not bother them anymore when you want to...
Read moreHad a family outing and decided to end the day at DQ. Pulled into the parking lot but DT was backed up and we couldn’t get into any parking spaces so we parked in the next business’s lot and made our way in. As we approached we debated leaving expecting a long wait and poor service but we promised the grandkids ice cream so we braced ourselves for a bad experience. Upon entering, a very nice young man who appeared to have already clocked out and trying to enjoy his dinner jumped up and jumped in to help. He worked with another young man at the counter helping him as he appeared to be new. I was not prepared with my order and they were very patient and helpful as I ran back and forth to gather my family’s requests. The order was rather large and the Mgr. on duty also came over to offer assistance to both young men. All of the employees were extremely friendly, professional and courteous. The orders were brought to us nearly immediately and everything was hot and fresh. I mistakenly ordered the wrong ice cream for my granddaughter and the mgr replaced it free of charge. During our meal they checked on us several times to ensure we were ok and had everything we needed. As a retired restaurant general manager and supervisor, I was totally impressed with the quality of service, food, cleanliness and friendliness of the mgr on duty and the young man that interrupted his dinner to jump back in and help. I made a point to tell them they were great. The young man told me he was being promoted— Yes! do so immediately! If I were still in business, I would have done my best to get him in with my company. We had a wonderful experience. I failed to get their names. Big kudos are needed for the folks working Friday night 10/21/22 around 7:30 or so. Especially the mgr. and the young man jumping in to help. Great job guys!! Much...
Read moreThey made me pull up wait extra long in the drive thru and gave me a large melted blizzard and the other large blizzard did not fill the cup it was barely over half way full in the cup and I ordered two large blizzards at dairy queen through the app. I returned them and they gave me only two medium-sized blizzards in the large cups. The second time I returned the product to have it remade by going inside. I talked to the manager about it and she seemed uninterested and said "that's just how they came out" and she tried to force me to take them with a passive aggressive attitude. I was ostracized by them deliberately. The food service team did it and were laughing about it and thought I could not see them working behind their food prep windows. They made me go back inside after ordering it in the drive thru being forced to pull up and wait extra long to receive a melted ice cream that spilled on me when I removed the soda lids and they deliberately put both large blizzards in a weak brown bag with soda lids on them not even blizzard lids. They also gave me a barely over half full cup of what was supposed to be a large blizzard. They made me take my 3 month old baby inside just to see my reaction. Bc I had to park to go in. The sloth of a manager said they would issue the refund and never did. She did not go to the register and give me a receipt of confirmation. I still did not receive a refund from them as...
