The best Mexican food in Brunswick with THE WORST service you'll get anywhere in Brunswick. My family has enjoyed the food (NEVER the service) here for two years, but after today's visit we won't be back again.
When we first started eating here we were thrilled to see that the clientele (during our hours of visits, anyways) was mostly Mexican and Latin American; a sign of a diamond in the rough. Over the years people (like we did) found out about this place and it has become a hot spot for us gringos.
We've been loyal customers and eat here way often than I'd like to admit. With that being said, we always seem to get the same waiter. He's been there for forever it seems, and he's never excited to be there. It shows on his face, and how he interacts with customers. He's rude, ignores us at every opportunity, takes forever to return to the table with simple things like napkins, straws, salsa, etc even when we are the only ones in the restaurant. It is obvious that we are not his top priority. Since we've received such horrible service for years we've started to wonder if maybe it's just us. Surely we are the only ones being treated this way, or La Salsa would be out of business. Or maybe the food is just too good? Or maybe this server doesn't like gringos? I'm not sure, but what I am sure of is that we will not be returning. Where we live it's a long drive anywhere we go. I'll choose to make my long drive to Jacksonville from now on. I can find good Mexican food there, too, AND get...
Read moreWhat a great place for authentic Tex-Mex food! Everything about this restaurant exceeded our expectations. We arrived early for lunch around 11:20 AM, and by the time we left around noon, the place was packed with people waiting outside for a table. That alone should tell you it's a fantastic place to eat.
The food was outstanding for the price. I had the combination dish #11, which included one enchilada and one hard shell taco with rice and beans. Everything was fantastically delicious and authentic! I also had the appetizer-sized portion of guacamole, which was super fantastic for only $2.99! Their salsa is obviously homemade, as is everything else. Nothing comes from a can or jar here, unlike some other Mexican food restaurants. They even had authentic totopos corn tortilla chips like you get in Mexico.
I love this place and will most definitely be back when I'm in Brunswick.
P.S. I didn't even mention the interior decor! From the tables and chairs to the festive Mexican party banners and other decorations, everything makes this place feel authentically Mexican. That's...
Read moreI tell you what, this restaurant has been my favorite hands down since I have been in Brunswick (born here FYI). The food is out of this world. The love and passion put into each plate shows with every bite! It is real and authentic. It beats Cilantros, 1800, El Potro, Cinco De Mayo and any other Mexican or Spanish restaurant in this city! The staff is always so polite and accomadating. Also, they go the extra mile to hire some bilingual employees for the only English speaking community. They don't have to do that. Its a Spanish restaurant! And to now see that the owners selfishly give back to the community in hard times is amazing. I will forever recommend this place to any and every person I encounter looking for a great meal! To the owners...I don't know you but just know that you are appreciated and we need more people like you in our community! I will pray for you, your family, and your business to prosper in every aspect of your lives forever. God see's all, and you will be blessed. From a very dedicated customer,...
