My family and I go to this restaurant on occasion. The staff is always friendly, lively and entertaining. The food is consistently good. I REALLY HATE RATING IT SO LOW BECAUSE THEY DON'T DESERVE THIS - The team gets 5 STARS. My biggest concern is the foul smell of sewage when approaching/using the restrooms. I'm pretty adamant about washing my hands before I eat and every time I go to the back, I want to wretch! The bathroom "appears" clean most of the time but that smell takes it to another level. I mentioned it to the manager about 2 months ago and she said they were getting it fixed but it was still horrible tonight. It's like all the old food from all day had been festering back there in a warm open container. That stench is really foul and I'm typically there at night. I hate this because this is the most convenient one in my area but I'm not sure I can continue to go back there. This isn't McD's! We're paying quite a bit more for this food - it's very good and the service is great, so I don't mind. The 5 Guys organization/franchisee needs to ensure the customer experience is positive in EVERY way. (I did notice another suggestion I made about the auto towel dispenser placement in the ladies room not being over the trash can. Clean paper came down and inevitably, was in contact with the can below it. I saw that it was moved so I feel like they responded - thank you! ) Also, if the staff has to use/endure that bathroom it makes me wonder how sanitary the place is in...
Read moreWe were there Sat June 17th with my brother who is in a nursing home. We flew down from Pittsburgh. The store needed cleaning or at least swept every once in a while. Since we've never been to a Five Guys before we didn't know what to expect. We ordered our burgers 2 double cheeseburgers and one single plus two regular and I wanted to try the cajun fries. after ringing up our order she asked us how much of a tip we wanted to leave 15% 18% 20%. I felt obligated to leave a tip because it seamed like all the employees were watching and I didn't know what they would do to our order if we didn't tip. We had to place our order at the counter, we were given a number to come pick-up our order. NOONE came to our table even to ask if everything was okay nor if we needed any thing else. A tip is supposed to be if the service was good or if the food was good not a tip before you find out if the food was even good. That option should be removed.....or that indicates that you don't pay your employees enough. The whole order cost the three of us almost $67.00 . The fries were limp and NOT crisp the cajun was way too much cajun not enjoyable at all, the burgers were sloppy and over kill with the mayo. The MOST UPSETTING was the audacity to ask for a tip when you aren't even a full service restaurant..I have a saying "That is twice we've been there our 1st and...
Read moreI visited Five Guys Austell on September 17 around 9 PM and this was one of the dirtiest restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. I paid a little over $15 but walked out without eating because of how disgusting the store was.
The drink station was already dirty, but when I walked to the waiting area, I was shocked — fries were all over the floor (piled up near the fryer), the grill looked greasy and unclean, and the milkshake machine was gross. Counters and work areas were a mess.
I asked for a refund and pointed it out to the cashier, who said she was running the register and fryer while the other employee made burgers. But here’s the thing — I was the ONLY customer in the store. This wasn’t the result of a rush. From the looks of it, the mess had been there all day. Customer-facing areas should be a top priority when it comes to food handling, and there was zero effort made to maintain basic cleanliness.
At that point, I couldn’t trust the food safety or hygiene. I got my refund and left. Unacceptable, unsafe, and a health hazard. Management seriously needs to...
