Wow!! What a wonderful place!! Such a great experience. Had a little change in plans this morning, so I figured Iâd grab some breakfast. Iâm not too familiar with this side of town, so I just looked online for breakfast diners. Some of the big chains came up, but I was more in the mood for something local. I saw this place online and figured Iâd give it a try. There was a very pleasant greeting the moment I walked in, almost like I was a regular there. Mikala welcomed me in and showed me where to place my order. But there was such a warm feeling in this place and Mikala treated me so well that I decided it was worth the time to just sit down and enjoy breakfast. Mikala told me I could sit wherever I like and offered her section as well. I couldnât turn down the invite! As I sat down, there was a warm greeting from some of the other patrons. I spoke with one of the regulars there and asked him âWhatâs some good stuff to order?â Jeff replied, âThe menu.â đđ He told me that, if you see it on the menu, you know itâs good!! And, from what I saw, he was right. As you can see from the pics, I clearly was googly eyed when I was looking at all the deliciousness on the menu. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese biscuit and the Salmon bowlâŚ. It was soooooo good! Itâs hard to find places like these around Atlanta any more. Places now seem to be more focused on the money than the customer. This place focuses on treating people like youâve just come over to grannyâs for a bite to eat. I loved how the staff interacted with each other. They even treat themselves like royalty, and I think thatâs where it starts. When you treat your staff like royalty, it models the behavior you want them to have with the customer. Mick was my secondary server đđâŚ.. She was very kind and just a fun person. Even the manager came out to say hello, which means a lot to me! To see the leader out of the office, interacting with the guests and checking on them, filling in and being a support for her staff. KV was great!! I explained to her that we donât take to kindly to those black n gold football jerseyâs round here, we prefer the red n black đŚ đŚ (Iâm aware itâs an eagle, didnât see a Falcon emoji đ). Another thing that surprised me was the prices!!!! There arenât many places in Atlanta that you can go out to eat and get a mean for 10 bucks!! Idk if youâve seen the âAtl goin outâ meme, but itâs really like that here. When you step out the âŚ. $20 bucks off the rippa!! So I was super excited to see they werent beatin ya over the head for a bite to eat. Food was great, super delicious. I really enjoyed. I live about 30mins way, but this will be a drive Iâm willing to make to come back and enjoy a nice breakfast at a nice spot. Another thing i enjoyed was the scenery!! I get it, itâs not a clubâŚ.. but there were a lot of beautiful women coming in and out! âŚâŚ and I enjoyed the music they were playing too! They had some (well, Iâm 46 this year) jams playin! I will definitely be back!! Thank you Mikala, Mick and KV! I had such a wonderful time, this really...
Read moreI was very disappointed with my food and service during my last visit to Huskers Stone Mountain. I visited Huskers a few weeks ago with a friend and ordered the shrimp and grits. When my plate arrived, it was five barely seasoned shrimp on top of congealed grits with no cheese in the grits. I've never had shrimp and grits served this way. It looked and tasted very unappealing. I decided to send it back to be removed from my bill.
The manager was very rude about it. He claimed that the number of shrimp was on the menu (not true), that this was the recipe they have always used (also not true---the pics posted of the same dish from other reviewers look AWESOME), and acted as if he didn't really want to remove the dish from the bill. His tone and attitude indicated that he thought I should shut up about it, eat it and like it just because I ordered it. If the dish isn't made well, the customer shouldn't be made to feel odd-man-out about it.
I ended up turning the entire bowl over and holding it above the table to prove my point to the manager. Other than one lone shrimp plopping out, NOTHING on the entire plate moved. That's how hard and congealed the entire dish was, shrimp grits and all.
My experience and treatment was so bad, I don't know if I'll ever be back. Money is too tight these days for establishments such as Huskers to practice getting upset and blaming the customer's tastes when they serve basically inedible food instead of graciously adjusting for the error.
I considered Huskers for breakfast this morning. Instead, I'm sitting in front of Metro Cafe right down the street getting ready to walk in after I finish writing this review. Check your management Huskers. Black guy with a limp. I'm a black women myself so no...
Read moreWe decided to go here instead of our usual Waffle House because of the good reviews and cheap prices. However, the ambiance and service were a turn off, and the food wasnât all that great.
When you walk in the place looks pitifully empty and under-decorated, like they canât afford an appropriate number of tables or a bit more artwork. It wasnât busy, so we had our choice of tables, but I still had to stare at two uncleared tables for about half an hour. Why are the staff standing around in the kitchen when tables need clearing?
Our server wasnât rude, just absent; the place was not busy, so she had no excuse not to check on us. When I went to the bathroom, our server and one other were chatting about relationship problems in one of the stalls. Save that for after work and bring me my effing coffee! I guess I shouldnât be too unhappy about not getting any coffee refills, because the coffee was so weak I almost didnât want to drink it. But the principle of the thing is that if they offer free refills, my cup should never be empty. The server just did not seem to care. It was like we didnât exist to her after we got our food.
I ordered a bacon and egg breakfast and my spouse got a custom grits bowl. My eggs were cooked perfectly and the grits were delicious, but everything else was a disappointment. The ham for the grits bowl was thrown on top in one big slice; how are you supposed to cut meat when itâs sitting on top of soft grits? The ham was also extremely salty, and seriously detracted from the deliciousness of the grits. Two stars for the two good food items, but we wonât...
