Wow!! What a wonderful place!! Such a great experience. Had a little change in plans this morning, so I figured I’d grab some breakfast. I’m not too familiar with this side of town, so I just looked online for breakfast diners. Some of the big chains came up, but I was more in the mood for something local. I saw this place online and figured I’d give it a try. There was a very pleasant greeting the moment I walked in, almost like I was a regular there. Mikala welcomed me in and showed me where to place my order. But there was such a warm feeling in this place and Mikala treated me so well that I decided it was worth the time to just sit down and enjoy breakfast. Mikala told me I could sit wherever I like and offered her section as well. I couldn’t turn down the invite! As I sat down, there was a warm greeting from some of the other patrons. I spoke with one of the regulars there and asked him “What’s some good stuff to order?” Jeff replied, “The menu.” 😂😂 He told me that, if you see it on the menu, you know it’s good!! And, from what I saw, he was right. As you can see from the pics, I clearly was googly eyed when I was looking at all the deliciousness on the menu. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese biscuit and the Salmon bowl…. It was soooooo good! It’s hard to find places like these around Atlanta any more. Places now seem to be more focused on the money than the customer. This place focuses on treating people like you’ve just come over to granny’s for a bite to eat. I loved how the staff interacted with each other. They even treat themselves like royalty, and I think that’s where it starts. When you treat your staff like royalty, it models the behavior you want them to have with the customer. Mick was my secondary server 😊😊….. She was very kind and just a fun person. Even the manager came out to say hello, which means a lot to me! To see the leader out of the office, interacting with the guests and checking on them, filling in and being a support for her staff. KV was great!! I explained to her that we don’t take to kindly to those black n gold football jersey’s round here, we prefer the red n black 🦅🦅(I’m aware it’s an eagle, didn’t see a Falcon emoji 😂). Another thing that surprised me was the prices!!!! There aren’t many places in Atlanta that you can go out to eat and get a mean for 10 bucks!! Idk if you’ve seen the “Atl goin out” meme, but it’s really like that here. When you step out the …. $20 bucks off the rippa!! So I was super excited to see they werent beatin ya over the head for a bite to eat. Food was great, super delicious. I really enjoyed. I live about 30mins way, but this will be a drive I’m willing to make to come back and enjoy a nice breakfast at a nice spot. Another thing i enjoyed was the scenery!! I get it, it’s not a club….. but there were a lot of beautiful women coming in and out! …… and I enjoyed the music they were playing too! They had some (well, I’m 46 this year) jams playin! I will definitely be back!! Thank you Mikala, Mick and KV! I had such a wonderful time, this really made my day!

OMG!!! Words could not express my feelings for my experience with this restaurant. It was a Sunday afternoon, my family and I (4 ppl ), wanted somewhere small and cozy to go. I googled "best place to have Sunday brunch" Huskers was #3 listed in my results. Me being a chef and a foodie 1st checked out the reviews. Most of them was all good. The picture and the menu items got me excited. So I packed up my family and we went. None of us could decide what we really want so my husband said let's just try a lil of everything, so we did. We all got the premium build your own grit bowl, One Salmon, one steak, and one shrimp. Now my youngest is a picky eater so all she wanted was a waffle and some hashbrowns, but the three of us alone with our bowls also ordered biscuits and gravy, 3 pancakes, the shrimp bowl was double meat with grilled and fried shrimp. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!!! We all left there full and ready for a nap. BUT the lunch menu was speaking to me so b4 we left we ordered the salmon melt, and peach cobbler to go. The only negative I had was my steak was a bit chewy. Also reading the reviews one particular server stood out and without asking that's who we got, Jimmy, not sure if thats how SHE spells it but yes our server is a female and her name is Jimmy. She was AMAZING and stayed on top of EVERYTHING. We will be returning but not ordering everything on the menu again.

What can I say? YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE! Great food, great service, and if you ask the right person, you'll get a little history as well. This restaurant's humble beginning is truly the "American Dream"! Working hard for a big company, and realizing.... we can work hard for ourselves! I was visiting from Louisiana, and was looking for a bite to eat, it was like the ancestors were calling out to me when I saw HUSKERS CAFÉ! I'm so happy I listened to that little hungry voice. I will definitely be dining here every chance I get when I come into town. 10 out of 10... I'll give it a solid 11! The grits is THE BEST! didn't have to add salt or pepper, my eggs were PERFECT! My pancakes were OUT OF THIS WORLD! Our waiter was very attentive, and prompt. His name is Noah, hi Noah you're AWESOME SAUCE, WITH A SIDE OF SUNSHINE✨️ Give them a try, I really hope my review helps make up your mind. Because honestly, the cook is invited to ALL OUR COOKOUTS! Just bring your apron 🥴 because you're cooking🤷🏾‍♀️🤣 much love, Jazzmin Morris-Clovis Oh yeah, a party of 3. We all had very big portions. Under $45!

I was very disappointed with my food and service during my last visit to Huskers Stone Mountain. I visited Huskers a few weeks ago with a friend and ordered the shrimp and grits. When my plate arrived, it was five barely seasoned shrimp on top of congealed grits with no cheese in the grits. I've never had shrimp and grits served this way. It looked and tasted very unappealing. I decided to send it back to be removed from my bill.

The manager was very rude about it. He claimed that the number of shrimp was on the menu (not true), that this was the recipe they have always used (also not true---the pics posted of the same dish from other reviewers look AWESOME), and acted as if he didn't really want to remove the dish from the bill. His tone and attitude indicated that he thought I should shut up about it, eat it and like it just because I ordered it. If the dish isn't made well, the customer shouldn't be made to feel odd-man-out about it.

I ended up turning the entire bowl over and holding it above the table to prove my point to the manager. Other than one lone shrimp plopping out, NOTHING on the entire plate moved. That's how hard and congealed the entire dish was, shrimp grits and all.

My experience and treatment was so bad, I don't know if I'll ever be back. Money is too tight these days for establishments such as Huskers to practice getting upset and blaming the customer's tastes when they serve basically inedible food instead of graciously adjusting for the error.

I considered Huskers for breakfast this morning. Instead, I'm sitting in front of Metro Cafe right down the street getting ready to walk in after I finish writing this review. Check your management Huskers. Black guy with a limp. I'm a black women myself so no...

We decided to go here instead of our usual Waffle House because of the good reviews and cheap prices. However, the ambiance and service were a turn off, and the food wasn’t all that great.

When you walk in the place looks pitifully empty and under-decorated, like they can’t afford an appropriate number of tables or a bit more artwork. It wasn’t busy, so we had our choice of tables, but I still had to stare at two uncleared tables for about half an hour. Why are the staff standing around in the kitchen when tables need clearing?

Our server wasn’t rude, just absent; the place was not busy, so she had no excuse not to check on us. When I went to the bathroom, our server and one other were chatting about relationship problems in one of the stalls. Save that for after work and bring me my effing coffee! I guess I shouldn’t be too unhappy about not getting any coffee refills, because the coffee was so weak I almost didn’t want to drink it. But the principle of the thing is that if they offer free refills, my cup should never be empty. The server just did not seem to care. It was like we didn’t exist to her after we got our food.

I ordered a bacon and egg breakfast and my spouse got a custom grits bowl. My eggs were cooked perfectly and the grits were delicious, but everything else was a disappointment. The ham for the grits bowl was thrown on top in one big slice; how are you supposed to cut meat when it’s sitting on top of soft grits? The ham was also extremely salty, and seriously detracted from the deliciousness of the grits. Two stars for the two good food items, but we won’t...
