IHOP — Restaurant in Georgia

I have always liked to eat at IHOP but today’s experience was not good (Father’s Day). We were there by 7:45 AM and one of the first to be seated. There was only one waitress on and no hostess. We were finally told, by the cook, to seat ourselves which we did. After waiting about 15 minutes we were asked what we wanted to drink. We both chose coffee but it took another 15 minutes to get it. In the meantime other people were coming in and three more waitresses arrived. A couple came in and sat in the next booth to us but were completely ignored for at least 45 minutes. We had already placed our very basic cooked breakfast order but it still hadn’t arrived. We had been sitting there now for one hour. The couple in the next booth motioned our waitress over and asked if they could at least get their coffee. The waitress informed them (the only white waitress there, I might add) that there were people before them and that they would have to wait. I was a TRAINED waitress at A Denny’s restaurant and was shocked at what was going on. After waiting for about one and a half hours for our food, we walked out and won’t be returning. I have been visiting IHOPs since 1965 when the waitresses had to wear the pale blue dresses with white colors and cuffs rather than the “wear whatever you like” way they dress now. I suggest you start training your waitresses and do surprise visits to some of your restaurants to see if they are following through with their training. Just called to see how late they were open and I’m loudly and abruptly greeted by a young women that sounded more like a D.J. hyping up a party, letting me know that “ yes” they are open until 10 BUT they are running out of food🤨. I asked her if she was being serious and she said “yes.” I asked her if that’s how they always answer the phone and she said “we are just trying to spread the holiday cheer.” I’ve been to this IHOP several times and it’s hit or miss every time. Once we walked out as soon as we walked in because a server greeted us by flinging her hand in the general direction where she wanted us to sit and said just have a seat over there somewhere. There’s been at least three times the staff was arguing with each other in the front of the house and once in the kitchen, almost every time our food doesn’t come out together, dirty dishes left on tables for an hour, several times it hasn’t been very busy, empty tables everywhere but it takes at least ten minutes for a server to come and take our drink order and after we get our meal they don’t come back. Oh and one of the grossest things is the glass doors are covered in smudges, hand prints just filthy. I don’t believe there is proper training and this is clearly a management issue. Yes I know I have a choice and I didn’t have to keep going back but every time I returned I was really hoping it would change and I like their coffee. Waitress barely checked on us on the status of our order which took way over an hour while people that came in after us got their food before we did. Waited over an hour all the food to be brought. Kept hearing we only have one cook while he was preparing ever other order beside my tables, even online orders that came after our order before us. Plus waitress was extremely rude and had an attitude back like it was our fault we were waiting for so long. Do not go here at all. They will charge you extra for things that weren't never extra before. You will just wait an hour sipping on water you still gotta wait 30 minutes before your water will even be refilled.

Edit: Gave ihop one more chance but ordered online to save the hassel of dining in. Waited 20 minutes before I came up for my order. Walked in and nobody acted like my order was never made when it was made being ignored wherever it was. Finally got my order and clearly stated verbally no tomatoes on my sandwich but in the side salad was okay. Finally got my order and left about 5 minutes later. After i left, I noticed no one put tomatoes in the salad and had to come back. Left again after that and was about to eat my chicken sandwich when it looked nothing as advertised online and did not have avocados as stated online. Had to come back a 3rd time to get this issue fixed. Honestly, I wouldn't order from ihop and just go to waffle house if I were you with 2 bad experiences back to back with...
