At one time I would given this place five stars. We have been going there for over 20 years. Today I placed an order for lunch. I got a lunch combo meal and substituted the egg roll for a spring roll no problem there. Then separately from that I had ordered a thing of fried rice and then a package of vegetable egg rolls AKA spring rolls. Anyways I had another family member pick up the order when it was brought home the package of egg rolls were meat. I called up there to kindly explain what I had gotten wrong and instead of being understanding the young guy that works there the Son instead of being polite was argumentative over 3 eggrolls. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around how rude he was and it was just over 3 egg rolls. I did not even call to complain about the mistake I just explain the situation that I did not get the correct type of egg roll but he chose to be argumentative and rude and said misunderstanding come bring back the egg rolls give you your money back misunderstanding then click and hung up on me. After over 20 years of going here because of that type of attitude I will not be back. To get mad and get argumentative with the customer over 3 egg rolls shows greed to me. The father in the mother especially the father are so very nice I wish it was them I dealt with especially the father but because of their son's attitude I will not be back. I'm not telling anyone to stay away from this place because of what happened to me by any means I just want to point out that I think it was ridiculous to act that way over a stupid 3 pack of egg rolls that were supposed to be veggie AKA spring rolls and got meat instead. When dealing with the father you will get kindness and with the son you will get a greedy argumentative attitude. I guess in today's time places of business no longer care about customers especially customers that have given them business for over 20 years are so greedy and will not even apologize for something so simple. I speak only of the Son not...
Read moreFound our new favorite spot for Chinese food. After COVID our go to spot changed completely. We normally go for hibachi on my birthday but I was really craving Chinese food that the whole family would enjoy. I started looking at reviews and out of all the restaurants I found Imperial Chinese Garden had the most consistent reviews including most recent ones.
When we first arrived the parking lot was not very lit and hardly any cars. We were a bit skeptical because we arrived around 7:30pm on Thursday and the restaurant was empty besides 1 table although they did have a traffic for take out orders. I got down and asked if they were open for dine in and a very welcoming lady said they were. I also looked at they’re rating and was happy to see an A. I went back out to tell the family to get down and crossed my fingers that we would enjoy it.
We were very satisfied and pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh and very flavorful. I am vegetarian so usually end up eating the same thing anywhere we go but I was so happy to see they had plenty of vegetarian options. The rest of the family truly enjoyed all the dishes even my 7 year old picky eater. Items ordered that we can confirm were delicious: sizzling rice soup, egg rolls, vegetable spring rolls (V), Mongolian beef, Orange Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Family Style Fried Tofu (V), Sweet and Sour Shrimp, Fried Rice (V), Vegetable Mei Fun (V). The food and service were great. I did miss some hot chili sauce on the table but I am sure if we asked they would have brought some. I noticed some of the lower reviews focused on the decor. It is traditional decor with a beautiful fountain in the middle which my 7 and 9 year old really enjoyed. Can it be updated? Yes it can but it doesn’t take away from the cleanliness, food, or service. If you are looking for a nice low key restaurant I definitely recommend Imperial Chinese Garden, we will...
Read moreAfter the thoughtful response from Imperial Chinese Garden, we thought it was important to go back. We've since ordered take-out a few times. Just as before, the food has been excellent, so we are updating to 4 stars.
Terrible service; good food.
We made a reservation and were seated immediately. But it took 60+ minutes for anyone to take our order. Long wait for drinks as well. We had to get the menus ourselves. It took another 60 minutes to get any main meals.
They brought out one main meal all by itself and then no others for about 5 minutes. Then they brought out half the other main meals and then it was another 10+ minutes before they brought the rest. No one offered to refill drinks until the meal was over for most of us.
Something was wrong with their order sequence. Every table in the room the guests who arrived after us got their food before we finished getting ours (and most ate and left before we got the check).
Even the small service details were frustrating. They said they ran out of chopsticks, but we passed a full basket of them in the lobby on our way out.
The food was good, but it took about 3 hours and almost all of that time was waiting for food. We saw several people who gave up and left because no one came to take their orders.
Nice atmosphere for a casual restaurant (see pictures), and perhaps they had call-offs, but there's no good explanation for why 5+ other tables got food before we got even half of ours even though they arrived after we did. Bringing main meals out staggered so much was also a problem because either the guests sat there and let the food get cold or they ate while others...
