I haven’t been to Jason’s Deli since around 2020. I’m a salad bar person & I enjoyed when the salad bar allowed multiple trips (not sure if it was “all you can eat”). I know around the time of Covid, that changed to a one visit to the salad bar policy. I didn’t like that, so, I never returned. However, I recently visited another location & they allowed two trips. So, when coming to this location, (& maybe it was the way I worded it) but we had a moment of confusion around the salad bar policy & became aware that there’s still some misunderstanding around the salad bar. Not sure if he’s the manager or not but the guy named Ross was patient & provided some clarity around the salad bar. Giving 4 stars because I appreciated him hearing us out & him explaining the Jason’s Deli policy.
Edit: Things are starting to make sense. I think this Jason’s Deli is cheating people or something. First time I went to this one in a long time & as stated above, the Ross guy explained the policy but after further reflection of his statements at the time, something is up here. He said corporate left them up to interpretation & some of the other Jason’s Deli’s aren’t following policy properly. I came back another time & their was a Black haired (I think it was dyed so she could be a natural brunette) that kinda gave me a similar response as Ross after I initially was refused my second, smaller plate. But after continuously visiting many other locations & asking about their policy, every other location seems to be on the same page, gives me no hassle & confirms that the salad bar policy is 2 visits: one with the initial salad bar bowl/plate with the second being a smaller bowl/plate.
Initially I gave a 4 for (what I thought was) at least having some decent treatment of a customer, but I’m changing it to a 1 star because I recently went again & didn’t appreciate the way the staff spoke to me about policies that (as stated above) I understood but they didn’t. I frequent Jason’s Deli’s from Chapel Hill, Camp Creek, 230 10th Street in Atlanta & all the way to the one in Northlake…this one off of Earnest Barrett Parkway is THE ONLY ONE that I’ve had an issue with as far as the salad bar policy. It’s like the managers tell the staff to tell the customers one thing, knowing it’s something else. I’m not sure whats going on. During my latest visit the employees Cydni & Bento refused to give me the second small plate. I asked for the manager, Cydni scoffed & repeated that salad bar was one trip. I again asked for the manager, she paused, I asked if she was the manager, she said no. So, I asked for her to get the manager a third time. She huffed off & after turning the corner, spoke to the manager (funny enough, his name was Jason), she returns from the corner & yells to Bento to give me the second plate. Bento gives me the plate but then comes from around the kitchen side & attempts to reaffirm to me (almost whispering) that salad bar is really just one visit. I tell her that I go to Jason’s Deli’s all through Atlanta & the metro & all of them say 2 visits, with the second being a smaller plate. We have a small back & forth & I finally come to the conclusion that I’m a paying patron & I’m beginning to feel uncomfortable. So, I ask for the manager again (after never getting to speak to him in the first place) & she tries to tell me there’s no need to get the manager. Long story short (cause this is a lot) I finally get to speak to the manager, Jason, he tells me the policy changed 6 months ago & sorry for the inconvenience. I’m not sure if I’ll be going back to this location. As stated above, I go to many different locations, I genuinely enjoy the deli, but I don’t pay for people to make me feel uncomfortable, deny my request & not follow their own policies. I don’t know if corporate reads these or not but I hope they investigate & overhaul this location. Something is off here.
PS: the actual lettuce was dry & turning colors. At least have the decency to have quality food if you’re going to treat customers a...
Read moreUnfortunately, this fav place will be removed off our list of places to eat after our last visit there. We will never step our foot in that place! I've never been treated any worse anywhere else (and I traveled around the world). Manager Gina, after we addressed the issue of not getting what we paid for, screamed at us, told us to get out and shoved her name tag into my BF's face when he asked for her name. We ordered our usual 1 half sandwich with side salad from salad bar and 1 regular salad from bar. Building our salad didn't go without a difficulty as both parties on either side of a plexi glass wore masks and music was blasting in the background. The salad bar employee gave both of us a small side salad size bowls for our salads although we ordered 1 side salad and 1 regular salad (which requires a bigger bowl). After my BF finished his small bowl of salad, he proceeded to the salad bar to request another bowl (accustomed to a limitless salad bar we enjoyed pre-covid). Manager Gina told him only one trip to a salad bar was allowed as they reduced price of salads from $9.99 to $7.69 and limited it only to one trip. She pointed at the sign near the cash register which was supposed to notify patrons of this change. Nothing on that sign said what she explained. He came back to the table rather irritated that he didn't get a regular size plate and now wasn't allowed to refill his small plate. Knowing that there had to be some sort of misunderstanding (mostly for a very loud music inside and everyone wearing masks), we both came up to the cash register to address our concerns with mgr Gina. My BF proceeded by saying "Before I make my decision to never come back here again, I want to make sure I understand you correctly." This should have been enough of a notice to a “good” manager that her customer is not happy and something needed to be done about it. Mgr Gina immediately started shouting by saying he would not get another salad as their policy changed, and we should have read that on the sign near the cash register. We pointed out that there was nothing on that sign of that sort. After flipping sign over and realizing she was wrong, she rushed to another sign by the exit door (one door is designated as entrance door, and the other-as exit), she pointed to a sign with small letters saying salad bar was $7.69 (one trip only). Looking at the receipt, cost of side salad I ordered was $1.19, but the cost of my BF's salad was $7.69 (for the same size bowl). As we tried to explain that to her, she quickly realized that the salad bar server gave us a wrong size bowl to begin with. When I tried to show the receipt to Mgr. Gina, and she screamed at me saying I need to back away from her since I wasn't wearing my mask anymore and rushed to the cash register. Instead of fixing the situation, she screamed at us to get out. She said "I wanted to give you a refund, but since you are yelling at me, you won't get anything and you just need to get out of here." My BF was irritated, but he never yelled at her and presented a very strong argument to show her she was wrong. My BF asked for her name, and she took her name tag off her shirt and shoved it right into his face screaming "Gina! Gina! Gina!" Two other employees started screaming for us to get out as well. I understand there could be a misunderstanding about an order, and covid brought nightmare to every one of us, but treating your valued customers like that is UNACCEPTABLE! This woman should not be a mgr as she is very rude, unprofessional and unable to resolve disputes. I love their food, but after the way we have been treated, Jason’s Deli lost...
Read moreI had a terrible experience just now and it was over something so petty and I won't be returning as a result. I don't need to be treated so rudely as a paying customer. I like Jason's Deli, but this location in Kennesaw had me leaving their place upset.
I ordered the salad bar and it comes with an extra small tiny plate for crackers and such. I asked and received another extra small plate from the line cooks, for some kind of yogurt that I didn't want all in my salad. I didn't think it was a such a big deal, neither did they.
Midway while dining, the lady that works the salad bar scolded me for having that extra small plate. I apologized the first time around but then the second time she made an effort to come to closer to my table and scolded me and lectured me, which really offended me at that point. I became upset and took the extra plate and gave it back to the line cooks. She came back towards me and the line cooks and started speaking spanish to the rest of her co-workers and I couldn't understand what they were all saying about me.
On my way out, I let the cashier know what happened and she looked confused. I then saw the manager and told him I was scolded over a small tiny plate. He said "ok". ???
I saw several other bad reviews about the salad bar and doing away with the limitless salad bar, I'm okay with that and understand that whole thing and supportive of the business, but mine was just 1 trip and over an extra small plate. Now it's...
