I travel the I 75 corridor from the metro area north 100 (ish) miles to Ellijay via 575 to 515 regularly for work, and this is one of (if not the only) 24 hour location on my route when I am working (DoorDash, Instacart, Shipt). Every time I have tried to buy a caffeinated beverage (coffee or espresso) after dark within recent memory, even though the rewards app allows me to purchase it (The app is supposed to notate menu items that are unavailable for each location that participates in the mobile app rewards, but this requires personnel from said location to use the needed software to keep in real time with the menu items on the app or to manually push through the information to update the app for customers in real time which this location apparently doesn’t do well or at all). Perhaps because this location is the only 24 hour location anywhere near this area, maybe the employees are staging a silent protest when their conveniently happens to be no manager on duty to speak to about these matters, but there is otherwise no reasonable explanation for why every single time I order any type of coffee or espresso drink between 6PM and 5AM, they say “Their machine is down”. The mobile rewards app only allows a customer to use one reward every 15-45 minutes so when an order successfully goes through using a perk or reward, it is a major bummer to find out at the order window there is no reasonable replacement menu item that can be made in house to use and yet, they still took my hard earned money and took access to my regards away for a period of time. This means the customer has to wait until the time clock cycles down and allows me to use a different reward AND you leave without any caffeine to soften the blow of turning a fast food drive thru experience into a waiting game that is so absurd at this point, I am wondering if I can blame my high speed interstate car crash due to exhaustion and no access to a McCafe beverage on McDonalds for using marketing schemes to promote their coffee brand and fancy coffee menu when they in fact are lying to my face because they don’t want to make McCafe beverages? Since the launching of the rewards app, McDonalds has been a major disappointment. This part of my review doesn’t relate to this location alone, but I have tried to contact corporate twice and because McDonalds is so wealthy they can afford not to care, I guess my complaints are just going to live and die in the Google Review abyss. Their rewards app is one of the worst of any company I have used in my entire life since the launching of smart phone app rewards. They relaunched the app with changes because I wasn’t the only one to feel this way, but the situation is no better. McDonalds is clearly using our addiction to their delicious and high calorie treats to keep us filling their registers and their drive thru lines, but when I sit back and think for a moment, I realize the reasons I stopped boycotting McDonalds after a 15 year hiatus due to their unconscionable policies are still in fact the same, just branded with trickier and better marketing to keep me distracted and listing after their breakfast blend blonde roast. I have two other huge complaints to add, but I have to find some coffee right now, so I will be back later to update with the other two appalling things I feel...
Read moreIf zero stars could be given! The most rude and unprofessional location in the state. Wait times are outrageous and staff is rude, and it’s an unorganized circus. If you can please avoid. I had a staff member decide to yell at me and then think it was ok to ask if I was slow and they were the one who works at a fast food restaurant that doesn’t require any skill set and hires as young as 14. I’ve NEVER thought in a million years I would have someone think to not practice emotional intelligence while at work in customer service. After asking to speak with the manager they thought to give a different name. The issue was I had been in line for 22 minutes before even getting to the window when I informed her I was there for a pick up order she said I would have to come inside for it. I told her ok but I’m blocked in and I would be holding up the line which would cause me to sit even longer because the line wasn’t moving. She then says are you slow. I sat waiting for the line to move another 7 minutes. I’m in the same place she asks to take my order I inform her I’m holding the line and can’t move because it has yet to move up. Mind you I’m stuck. She’s thinking I’m being petty but I couldn’t move. I tell the girl go talk to the other line because I’m holding the line up. She then proceeded to yeah and then call me slow again. I then decided since I had patience to wait that long to report her to the manager. I saw her at the window and asked her name she proceeded to still be unprofessional and not handle the situation with emotional intelligence. She decided to go tell the young lady at the window that’s clearly a teenager whatever the little girl says I heard you were being disrespectful as I’m asking to speak to the manager because I’m thinking why ami being spoken to like this by a minor and she’s in her workplace. I aggressively ask for the manager. As I’m speaking with the manager the girl whom I initially had the issue with comes and yells and screams while he and I are discussing what happened with her hood up on her head and hands in the air yelling and screaming was again my issue and reasoning for reporting her. Deeply disappointed that they allow people like this...
Read moreThis restaurant has been trash a long time. I never expect much from McDonald's but I ordered a meal with a cup of water. They wanted to to charge me for an extra drink for me asking a CUP of water. I said cancel the water, they said no, your good. You'll get the the coke and no upcharge for the water. I get to the window.... there was no coke just a larger water and the meal....then they look at you as if you're crazy. Whomever is franchising this location should lose it all together. The location on Spring road Smyrna has waaaaaaayyy better customer service even with their issues and farther from me....much better. The ghetto, subpar, and penny pinching atmosphere at this location is beyond belief. I work at a law firm dealing with this type of trash customer service and I worked at McDonald's over the years so I try to say nothing. However, this McDonald's is awful and they're right by the well known braves stadium. I honestly want anybody who reads this to report them to the better business bureau and food safety commission. This particular location should be shut down because I wanted to return my food tonight.....not only off of the bad customer service, me asking "how much" then upcharged more but then before upset and driving off ....seeing roaches on their kiosk but the line was long. I waited to turn around and of course the lobby was Locked. Shut this location down immediately and/or find better franchise owners. This location has progressively gotten worse and for me to complain on McDonald's says a lot. They are penny pinching and hiring Jeffrey Dahmer at this point just to get a bonus. Shame on this location. I'm literally discussing this with my law firm colleagues about this. I want nothing but I do want the manager, district manager, and whomever.,..to do better because at this point they just make up...
