Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Georgia

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I placed an order with papa johns at 1:15pm… the 3rd party service said it would be an HOUR wait which I was totally fine with… 21/2 HRS go by and my pizza still isn’t delivered. I call the 3rd party ordering service back and was on hold for an additional 30 mins before speaking to someone. I spoke with a supposed off duty manager named JAMES who was very dismissive this first go around but he informed me the pizza was on the cutting block and on its way AND that he would take 50% off my order… an additional HOUR goes by and they deliver the wrong pizza. I give the pizza back and STILL tipped the driver… I call back and am put on hold AGAIN for an additional 30 minutes… I finally speak with a young lady who is informed by another manager named Evelyn( I think) to remake my pizza AND comp the entire order… for some reason James is put back on the phone with me again and now he’s just totally rude and insinuating that I’m being confrontational about my pizza that I ordered, paid for AND tipped for. After we go back and forth he informs me that my order is being made and will be out for delivery… I then thank James and apologized for any confusion. 30 mins later Evelyn the manager on duty calls me back to inform me that my order is on the way and she apologized for the inconvenience. 30 mins later around 615pm my order is finally delivered but apparently they delivered two pizzas which one I found laying on my car parked in my drive way… so the first pizza was wrong and given back, there was a second pizza delivered but the person left it on my car and the third pizza was finally delivered by a surprisingly pleasant and understanding young lady. We used to order from this location a lot--more than I'd like to admit, really. Lately, we've been very disappointed. The same mistakes keep happening, and have happened each of the last few times we've ordered. I'm not sure what changed with staffing or management, but it has made an impact on this business.

Delivery has become very, very slow. The food arrives a good 15-30 minutes later than the END of the quoted delivery window (so if it said 45-60 minutes, we'd see it at 75-90 minutes). I don't mind waiting for food, mind you, but I hate being lied to about how long it's really going to take. With kids and bedtimes and routines and such, an extra 30 minutes of delay can really matter!

Quality has also suffered. At least one of the pizzas in EACH of the last few orders we received has been undercooked and doughy in the middle--almost like they shaved a few minutes off the intended cooking time on their ovens. But if that's the case, why is the food still arriving so late? It's a head-scratcher.

I'm not a picky eater, and I don't expect a lot from Papa John's (or any franchise pizza shop). But I do expect businesses to deliver fully cooked food within the quoted delivery window. It has become a trend, and I feel a review is now necessary for that reason.

This is my go to papa john’s since it is literally 5 mins around the corner from my house. Today was my first day in years that I ever had a bad encounter with an employee. With all due respect, we are currently still in a pandemic and most fast food restaurants are closing early or short of staff. This is quite understandable and not an issue. I ordered a half pepperoni and half pineapple pizza via phone and my estimated pick-up time was 20mins. I arrived in 25mins and my pizza was not ready because the location only had two people working which was not a problem. I waited an additional 10mins and my pizza was ready. I received the pizza and have the cashier he money until I noticed it was not what I wanted. I told the guy and asked him where was toppings and he proceeds to say, “under the cheese. there is nothing wrong with the pizza.” I politely told him that I did not want the pizza and his response was nonchalant and he did not acknowledge that you do not order pizza for the toppings to be underneath the cheese. He then gave me back my money in a rudely manner because I was displeased. I am writing this review because this location has to be mindful of the employees that they hire especially when a customer is not satisfied with their order and no type of accommodations were made.
