Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the pleasure of getting my order taken by Queen Vee herself! So sweet and she answered every question I had about the foods I wanted to try. We ended up eating at the restaurant getting the goat pepper soup, Egusi w/ fufu, jollof with chicken, plantains and Suya. The restaurant was clean and bright, bathrooms were clean as well.
The goat pepper soup had the perfect spice level and a ton of meat!
Egusi was amazing as well. Think we had goat in that one too (a ton of it)
The suya was juicy, not the drier cuts. They use purple onions with the suya that are incredibly strong for the meat, so Iād recommend them soaking the onions in a cold ice bath or using sweet white onions instead. The suya also came with a side of refreshing cucumber pieces. It was a nice treat after experiencing so many tasty spices in one sitting.
The jollof, chicken and plantains was supposed to be to go, but once we opened the container, we couldnāt help but have a little tasteā¦but tell me why we ended up eating half the to go container IN the restaurant! Momma Tami (I believe thatās her name) came out from the back and laughed so hard at us almost finishing it before we got home.
Overall great experience! Friendly local business that has great potential to franchise if they wanted. I felt at home here and like these were my aunties and elders. Will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet's start at the display of foods on the windows! You would think they were commercializing the food to look more appealing but i tell you: what you see is an UNDERSTATEMENT of what you actually get. I ordered the ogusi soup with fufu for lunch, and added some goat meat. Let's just say a picture couldn't do this food justice, I was so hungry I didn't have time to take a picture but I hope my descriptions persuade. You really have to taste this experience, bursting with flavor isn't descriptive enough. The consistency of the fufu is perfect, the portions are great and the presentation is reminiscent of a neighborhood village spot in Africa. Queen Vee surely does give you royal treatment, she came out with a mixbowl of water so I can clean my hands as I ate... She is extremely warm and welcoming, she is also witty! Seriously, if you are looking for good Nigerian Cuisine, please visit Queen Vees, this place will...
