I have always visited Milk and Honey in Cascade and College and the food, the greeters even the wait staff were always super nice.
Today me and my partner decided to visit this location since we just discovered there was one closer to us. The young lady /teenager at the front didn’t look like she enjoy her job or care to be there. As we walked up to her I was expecting a hi welcome to M&H how may I help you. But instead we were the ones who had to greet her and ask the wait time. She said under her breathe “an hour”. We give her our number went outside until we got the txt to go back.
I always go to any restaurant restroom to make sure to wash my hands when I visit a restaurant. The restroom was a mess, water was all over the sink and the floor. There wasn’t any paper towel in the dispenser, instead they had a half of paper towel on the sink which was soaked in water. I went back to my table and told the sever there wasn’t any paper towel in the men’s rest room and the one on the counter/sink was wet. He said he will let someone know. We sat down got ordered our drinks and got them after 5 mins. Ordered food and it came out less than 15 mins later. I was shocked they both came at the same time considering the meals were order 10 mins apart. Shrimp and grits my partner ordered and I ordered chicken and waffle.
The waffle were cold as if they were sitting in the kitchen all morning , and the chicken was bland. My partner didn’t have a spoon to eat the grits with and asked for one and waited almost 10 mins to get one.
I don’t know if it’s because of the location of this M&H but we have the same food at cascade and camp creek and it always taste great and well seasoned and have the right temperature. So maybe the chef/cook think that he/she can do whatever because the area is ghetto, but I am not ghetto. I maybe black but far from ghetto. The service, food, restroom appearance was atrocious to say then least. I’ll never visit this location ever ever again. The funny thing is this, after being there for 40 mins we decided to leave and I went back to the restroom to wash my hands and they didn’t add paper towel to the dispenser or replaced the wet one that was on the sink. Bad bad bad...
Read moreI visited Milk and Honey Tuesday 10/17, and the service was horrible. It was not busy. We were seated immediately. It took our server (Janina) a long time (ten minutes) to come over and greet us. I ordered a coffee and specifically asked for flavored creamer. 12 minutes later we got our drinks. My flavored creamer was missing. Janina went back and retrieved the creamer. When we ordered water, Janina failed to mention the only option was bottled water. Not a big deal but helpful to know. Another server, Matthew, introduced hisself to his table sitting next to us.. They ordered water and he stated, “we only have bottle water, is that ok?” I expected the same from Janina.
We ordered French toast, chicken wings, and the Mr. Benny. Even though we were seated and ordered before the table in front of us, they received their food (also French toast chicken, fish etc) before we did.
The fried chicken was hot and tasty. The French toast was cold and dry. The Mr.Benny had hair in it. When I informed Janina, she didn’t apologize, ask if I wanted to order something else, didn’t acknowledge the issue at all. She squinted to see the hair, took the plate and left. Didn’t say a word. She then returned to tell me the kitchen was remaking the plate. I informed her I didn’t want another plate. About 5 minutes later, the MOD Rose came to the table. She introduced herself and said she was told I wanted to see her. I was perplexed because I did not ask for the manager. Something such as hair in food isn’t something you need a manager to address. Secondly, why send Rose over blindly? Even though I didn’t ask for the manager, she also had no idea why she was coming to see me at all. Perhaps Janina can benefit from additional training. Rose did do everything I expected from Janina. She apologized for the mishap, asked if I wanted anything else and let me know she will be sure to address the issue.
In addition, there were dead flies in window as well as live flies flying around. Picture of flies attached. Unfortunately I don’t take pictures of the hair because I don’t decided to leave this review until Janina attitude failed to improve.
The one positive aspect of this visit is...

Coming in, the air smelled of grease and the music was not censored as is customary in restaurants. The hostess didn’t say a word. She picked up two menus and walked off when we approached. Apparently, we were supposed to follow her. Our waitress was fine, however, when the food arrived, the eggs that I ordered were super oily and coved in black and brown specks indicating that the grill was dirty. I order bacon that came with hash brown pieces and tomato or pepper pieces clinging to them. I had a piece of bacon that was not cooked. The waitress took it back to the kitchen and brought it back dripping with dark grease. The French toast sections were all burnt on one side. A piece of strawberry that used as garnish should have been thrown out instead of put in a plate. The “peaches” looked like apples as they were dark in color and did not have the cinnamon taste that I expected as to attribute the dark color to. The French toast overall was not good and I sent it back. The person I was with sending hers back as well. The waitress apologized and brought the check.
Here's the kicker: the uneaten meals were not taken off the check. The waitress stated that the menu says that will be no refunds. Inspecting the menu, there is tiny writing saying that there will be no “exchange or refunds simply because you don't like it.”
Speaking to the manager after, she showed complete apathy stating that their grill was not dirty and she takes the food and it was fine. She also clarified that they ARE NOT the Real Milk and Honey. She offered to make something else but we declined.
Ultimately, if you choose to visit here, Niko was sweet and accommodating. Also, you just ask to speak to the manager; she doesn't come to the table to inquire about why guests are...
