6 months ago.....The best pizza that I've ever had. Salads are fresh and crisp with delicious homemade dressing. We love the pet friendly patio, which now has a full service bar. I really wanted to have Mexican food and a good margarita, but at Sicilys today, I can say that the jalapeño margarita that I had was made to perfection! Highly recommend Sicily's! 11/25/23 I'm changing my review from the previous after our service today. I have coming to this restaurant for the past 6 years on a regular basis because the food and service has been excellent until today.. The server was horrible (Cheyenne)
We came at 2pm and it wasn't busy at all. Instead of the usual pleasant greeting, we got "There's no clean tables. As I looked into the restaurant, every single table was clean. I ordered the jalapeño margarita and she said I don't know how to make that. I asked here if she was the bartender and she said no. DUH!!!! She comes back to tell me the bartender knows how to make it. I then got the you must show an ID. I explained to her that I didn't bring my purse, because we had been hiking. 6 I'm 70 years old a have never been carded in this restaurant. I was here last weekend and ordered wine and wasn't carded. My husband decided to order the drink and then she started threatening us loudly enough to where the people in the booths behind us could hear. " You better be the one drinking it and if I catch you, you'll be kicked out and never served again.! I was so upset by the attitude that I told to just forget it. WHERE DO FIND THESE PEOPLE??? Had she simply said "I'M SORRY, THE RULES HAVE CHANGED " would have been fine, but NO, she had to make a big scene so everyone could hear. AND......don't talk to adults like they are children!!! We ordered garlic knots that she finally brought. No plates or napkins were offered! Had to ask Our food was cold, so we got to go boxes. We usually tip our servers more than 20%, but didn't want to leave $ 5.00. ( she wasn't worth that) Sicilys is such a good restaurant and its a shame that one obviously unqualified server would ruin the whole dining experience.
Unless the rules have recently changed, this was unexcusable!! I've been there every weekend that we're at our home in Suches. I'll go back and hope I can get a server with some common sense!!
Have they changed management? If so, you need to emphasize commen courtesy to your patrons. I worked my way through college waiting tables, and if me or any of my co-workers has acted this way, we would have been terminated on the...
Read moreThe poor management was one thing, but our incredibly rude waitress, Cayleigh(sp?)was another. On Sunday, 4/3/2022, we dined in at around 5pm. Kaylee wasn’t particularly welcoming, but initially not too bad. Just kinda “blah.” We placed our order and as others have stated in previous reviews, we waited 40 minutes and watched customers that were seated after us get their orders before us. I asked a waitress(who wasn’t Kaylee) if our food would be coming soon and she explained the kitchen order process (which sounds very backwards and inefficient) and I said, “ok.” Situation was handled and everything was fine until Kaylee stomped up to the table about 2 minutes later and aggressively said, “Your order will be out in probably 5 minutes so the fact that you’ve only been waiting 40 is actually pretty good because most here wait an hour before getting food.” I was too stunned to respond immediately so when she came back to the table, I offered a suggestion of maybe letting customers know about the wait when they’re seated and that the attitude was not necessary. Instead of apologizing for the wait or the attitude, which is customer service 101, she proceeded to tell me that she had been “slapped, kicked and yelled at” by customers all day(highly doubtful) and that her attitude towards me was justified. I then explained to her that I hadn’t personally done any of those things and had just asked another waitress a question. She cut me off again and started arguing about being cussed at, etc. At that point I’d asked her to leave our table as I wasn’t interested in arguing with a teenager that has zero tact or social skills. The icing on the cake was when my son went back into the restaurant to retrieve forgotten sunglasses and overheard the waitress telling the other wait staff that I had “screamed and cussed” at her when I hadn’t even raised my voice or cussed at all. This girl clearly isn’t cut out for a customer service position and seems to have a problem with lying. Judging by the response from owner on other reviews, I’m not at all surprised by the attitude and lack of adequate service that is considered acceptable at this establishment. They also ran out of mozzarella while we were there, which is odd at an Italian restaurant. You might as well just close the doors...
Read moreI absolutely LOVE the pizza here, but unfortunately the lack of service will keep me away. When I arrived to get my pizza yesterday, I waited for nearly 10 minutes just to get to the counter and wasn't greeted by anyone. Their system had crashed, and people were being rudely turned away. When my $5 pizza was presented to me, I offered the girl my debit card. She said they could only accept cash, of which I had none. She basically threw my $5 pizza in the garbage and lost a customer.
I even returned after a bad experience last year, after being price gouged. An employee told me they raised their prices due to a hurricane moving through the area, which is illegal. Georgia was decimated by an actual hurricane a year and a half ago, research it.
I own a business in Blairsville and obviously don't want to give stuff away, but I certainly wouldn't let someone leave empty-handed if my systems crashed.
REPLY Nice to see you don't care about the complaint, and I DEFINITELY have the right place, I've been going to Sicily's for a long time. And you are wrong, one of YOUR employees told me you guys raised your prices prior to the large storm hitting. I used to get a calzone once or twice per week, and they were priced between $7 and $8. I was quite shocked when the price went to over $10 during the storm..... You must not remember, but an actual hurricane came through Georgia during the governor's race and decimated middle and southern GA and caused damage all the way to...
