We looked for a sushi spot in St. Simon’s Island to go to on our day trip, and landed on Tara’s. I’m not the biggest sushi fan, but I LOVE Thai food, so this was the perfect spot for us. My partner and son got sushi, which they said was really good. I got the drunken noodles, and our 5 year old got chicken and rice. I should point out that they do not have a kids menu, so we had to order a regular portion of rice, and then bring the rest home. Totally fine with me, because I was the one who got to eat it the next day 😁 The drunken noodles were amazing, as well as the rice that I tried the next day. I was too hungry to take a photo of our cream cheese wonton appetizer, but it was some of the best wontons I’ve had. Our server was great as well and memorized our large order without writing it down! Highly recommend! **Sushi pictured is Tempura Shrimp, Sakura, 911, and Broken Heart.

The Thai food at this restaurant is not authentic; it's Americanized and should be avoided. The one positive aspect was the excellent service from our waitress. Thai food is usually a safe choice among Asian cuisines, but this place somehow missed the mark. The "Drunken Noodles" were overly sweet, a stark departure from the typical savory and spicy profile. The noodles were also undercooked and tough, so I couldn't even finish the dish. The Tom Yum Goong soup was more savory than sour, which completely defeats the purpose of the soup. It seems they've Americanized their food and cut corners, failing to provide an authentic dining experience to the locals.

One word…PHENOMENAL! As a person who eats Thai Food (whether I’m cooking or eating out) a few times weekly, this food was delicious! Just came into town and was hungry, so I decided to stop in for lunch. The pad Thai was very flavorful ✨ with the perfect amount of sweetness. Phillip was my waiter and he was very attentive to my needs as well as his other tables. I will most definitely visit here again before leaving town

Tara Thai and Sushi offers a delightful dining experience that caters well to both Thai cuisine aficionados and sushi enthusiasts. During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of trying their Pad Thai, which was exceptionally good. The flavors were balanced perfectly, providing a harmonious blend of sweetness, tang, and savory notes, typical of authentic Thai cuisine. The noodles were cooked to the right consistency, and the dish was garnished thoughtfully, enhancing both its appearance and taste.

My date opted for the Salmon Lovers Sushi Combo, a choice that proved to be equally impressive. The sushi was fresh, skillfully prepared, and presented beautifully. Each piece was a testament to the chef's attention to detail and understanding of traditional sushi preparation. The salmon was tender and flavorful, indicating high-quality ingredients and freshness.

The atmosphere of Tara Thai and Sushi added to the overall dining experience. The decor struck a balance between elegance and comfort, creating a welcoming environment that complemented the meal. It was evident that attention had been paid to creating an ambiance that matched the quality of the food.

In conclusion, Tara Thai and Sushi is a must-visit for anyone looking for top-notch Thai and sushi offerings. Both the Pad Thai and the Salmon Lovers Sushi Combo were remarkable in flavor and presentation. The pleasant atmosphere further elevates the dining experience, making it suitable for both casual and special occasions. Highly recommended for a memorable...

We unfortunately walked in around 30 mins before closing. The greeter at the front provided us a table. The waitress quickly placed menus, asked what we were drinking without allowing us to even turn the menus around. She quickly stated that they are closing in 30 mins so to take a look at the menu. She stood in front of us without providing at least a moment to review the menu. We quickly stood up and apologized. The waitress was not apologetic regarding the shame of look we had walking in close to their closing time. We were not able to taste the food so we did not rate the food as we thought it was unfair to do so. Atmosphere seemed pleasant and inviting. We provide the owner a 5 star review because we understand owning a small business is much sacrifice but their service employees need to understand that they are in a touristy island with many visitors that something as restaurant hours may be a bit different than their place...
