If you’re at the Atlanta airport, Concourse F, and feeling hungry, do not stop at El Taco! This was by far the worst dining decision I’ve made in Terminal F. The service was incredibly slow, despite the line being shorter than the neighboring Asian restaurant.
I initially chose El Taco because of the shorter line, but the service turned out to be much slower. The two people behind the counter were more focused on their conversation than on preparing orders. The younger female employee, in particular, frequently paused in the middle of preparing our food to have an extended conversation in Spanish with the male manager. It was clear that customer service was not their priority.
The cashier, who was taking orders, was visibly impatient and didn’t appreciate any questions about the menu. She seemed irritated and responded abruptly. When I ordered a bottle of beer, she carelessly poured it into a plastic cup, leaving a good portion in the bottle, which she then threw away. She explained that the bottle could be considered a weapon, but wouldn’t it have made more sense to pour the full $8 beer into two cups instead of wasting it?
When our food was finally ready, she let it sit on the counter as she continued to take other orders and prepare empty plastic bags, allowing my meal to turn cold. I ordered the only vegetarian option on the menu—a bland and tasteless vegetarian taco—while my daughter had the cheese quesadilla. Both were incredibly disappointing. The tortilla was flavorless and industrial, with a small amount of bland filling. It quickly broke apart, and no utensils were provided to eat the filling.
The cheese quesadilla was no better—just greasy, tasteless cheese that was unappetizing to look at. Despite the menu suggesting it contained meat, there was none. We ended up throwing both meals in the trash, losing about $28 on inedible food.
Thankfully, we later went to the Asian restaurant next door, where the service was not only faster and friendlier, but the food was tasty, inexpensive, and we were able to keep the full contents of our beer bottle. Save yourself the disappointment and...
Read moreLet’s go through the details: -personnel didn’t greet us, didn’t even ask what we’d like, just waited for us to tell them. -waited 15 min for our food, which I’m sure is too long for most people -once we got our food, I could instantly tell it was not going to be good. As opening the foil, no smell happened which is weird because I would have assumed food to smell, and to smell good. Second, the tortillas were stiff and parts were cold and others hot. You could tell they weren’t warmed up evenly or cooked properly. Third, the tortillas broke and tore apart which made the contents spill out. Fourth, since the tortillas were stiff and not cooked well, they were hard to bite, and the taste of those tortillas took away from the filling. Finally, the filling needed more seasoning as it couldn’t counter the bad tortilla taste. Sixth, the salsa, the salsa! Anyone who truly want to showcase Mexican food and tacos, and actually cares about it, knows the salsa matters. The salsa pretended to be there, you could see glimmers of the pico de gallo, but somehow no taste was there. I wondered if it had disappeared. I hope I can complain to the airport because this place should not be in business here. While I was throwing out the wrappers and napkins, I thought to myself “in the trash where their food belongs”. I will never eat there again and I hope others don’t unless many things...
Read moreSimilar to all other reviews, horrible service and food quality. Waited FOREVER in line, could easily miss a flight waiting just to order. Workers moving slow as molasses, not a care in the world for customers or flight times. The girl at the register seemed to be in training but trainer was absent half the time, leaving one person in the kitchen who was also doing other things besides cooking food. Ordered the fried chicken taco and spicy beef taco. The beef taco was literally ground beef with lettuce on a taco, no spice or sauce. I could get better food at Taco Bell. DO BETTER for customers traveling internationally who need to eat before a long flight. The chicken and waffle place next door was out of chicken, the hot dog place had a long line and was moving relatively quickly. Pei Wei had a long line and seemed to be having similar problems but at least they had two people in the kitchen. It wouldn’t be a big deal if they were short staffed and working hard, but nobody at El Taco was working with any sense of urgency for how many people...
