I live across the street from this Waffle House on Redan and it is a new one. I was very excited to have a Waffle House in my neighborhood and after a long week at work , last night I decided to just sleep in and pop over there to have breakfast. I really like how in downtown Decatur and Atlanta the residents walk to the near by restaurants and leisurely have breakfasts or brunch in their neighborhoods , laughing and talking or spending quality time alone. So I want that experience in my own neighborhood, not a big ask....right? I walk in and there are 4 customers and 12 workers and they are so friendly. I happily sit down pull out my pad and turn on Nexflix .......I am in my happy zone🥰. My server Jess is so friendly and cute , takes my order and lets me know they have sugar free syrup and everything. I order a waffle, hash browns w/cheese and sausage, Bam 💥 Jess came right out with the Hashbrowns and sausage .....man this place is great! I bless my food and pick around the Hashbrowns knowing that the waffle is on the way........5 minutes later ......nothing. I ask another server for help , Jess comes back and remembers that I have ordered one and tries her best to get it for me. No dice 🎲 After 10 more minutes poor Jess comes to me with an underdone waffle , sits it down and immediately apologized for it being undercooked. Jess takes it back and the cook puts the same waffle back into the waffle iron to let it cook longer.....Where do they do that 🤔. Oh well the cook leaves and Jess has to go back and get her to retrieve it and when it gets to me it is gummy and tuff🙇🏾♀️I am over it at this point because I am the only guest at 11:00 on a Saturday morning and the Waffle House cannot get a Waffle right. I ask for my check and the manager, I tell him and show him my plate of food , still full of food mind you and he tells me “I am Ricardo the District Manager, ask for me the next time you come in and the meal is on me. “ “Sure, that will happen” Guess I am stuck heading to downtown Decatur...
Read more05/29/21 8:15 am. Waffle House used to be a place that promoted a feeling of wholeness and substance. There was a feeling of "down home " southern hospitality. This location, in particular, is the complete antithesis of that experience. The employees, who were all women at the time, were spewing out profanities as if they were the only ones in the building. My 16 year old son and myself had to endure a conversation about "periods" PERIODS!!! When I made them aware of the fact that we could hear them, they took offense and began to "whisper" amongst themselves trying to justify how they did not mention blood and wasn't graffic. This has been the most disgustingly unprofessional experience I've ever had in a WH. This location in particular has had a history of this type of activity for myself and my family. This was the absolute last straw for me. I will NEVER patronize this location again. Management needs to stay on the floor and be present at all times to try and improve the poor service and inappropriate activity the exists in this establishment. I was disgusted with the entire experience and was not able to eat my food, which was prepared wrong. This is an exact example of how WH has been given the nickname...
Read moreThis location is my favorite waffle house in my area. I only come here during the overnight on the weekend after leaving work. The waitress is fantastic and has even learned my order. She is a jack of all trades, as I've seen her training and cooking. This location is efficient and makes the food as ordered. I never have any bisque at this. When they don't have on-site security working, they are never super busy, so I'm always able to order and get home from long nights' work. I first tried this location after going to the one closest to my house, which said they were "closed" even though they had one cook and two waitresses on staff that morning (both of whom were on their phones when I pulled up). I digress, back to this stellar W.H. located off Redan and near its intersection with South Hairston. I keep saying I'll stop by later to see if the day staff is just as good as the overnight staff, but I haven't made the...
