We visited on Friday, March 21st We came as a group of 12. There was some confusion with reservations. My sister called the restaurant and the girl that answered said they don't do reservations. When she got there, the hostess told her that we needed a reservation. She told them what was said on the phone. Then the manager came and said they are supposed to get 24hrs notice for larger groups, but they were able to accommodate us. Ambience- It is a really nice Sports Bar. They have a basketball hoop (arcade game style), to the side. I think my husband said it was $1 to play. Service- Our server was Day(sp. ?). She did a great job. She was attentive and helpful. They did get my drink wrong and my daughter and nephew food mixed up, but they fixed it quickly. One thing that happened and was a little concerning was Day, (sp?), misplaced my brother's CC. That is something that should never happen. We were waiting for probably 15-20 minutes after everyone paid and they did a celebratory song for our daughter who just won State. My brother said he still did not get his card back, so I went over to her to let her know. She looked confused. She came over about 5 minutes later with his card. I personally do not like things like that. Food- The food was VERY good. For apps we ordered the cheesesticks, Spinach dip and Devils on a Horseback which was shrimp with cream cheese, hot honey and something else wrapped in bacon. Very good. There did seem to be a little bit more cheese than spinach in the dip, but it was still delicious. I can't remember everything everyone had, but everyone loved their food! I ordered the fried catfish. It was good, but I wish it was a whole catfish and not nuggets. I highly recommend people try this place out. We are definitely coming back! Also,.thank you to the servers for changing up the Birthday song to say Champion for our daughter's State Championship win!

I was disappointed when I saw a sports bar moving in after the lackluster Gibney’s Tavern took over the Aspen’s spot, but Walk Ons is a better-than-average sports bar. The benchwarmer-themed Louisiana style bar and restaurant is staffed almost entirely by super-skinny college girls in warm up clothes bathed in the glow of 30-ish big screen TVs blanketing the walls. There are plenty of menu options spanning the American palate. I grabbed the Cajundillas, a quesadilla with cajun chicken, beans, and cheese inside. It could have been spicier, accounting for the loss of one star I awarded on food. The buffalo wings also missed the mark on spicy, but were cooked pefectly. It’s so easy to over cook wings, but they were perfect. Plenty of beers available, but I was there for lunch and didn’t get to try any… there are the usual blue chip American beers, but also some craft beers I need to go back and try. Comfortable seating. I like when a restaurant lets in plenty of natural light, and Walk Ons is oriented in such a way to receive this without having the sun directly in your eyes. The one downside to the atmosphere is that the bar area looks like an assisted living center. Like they got lost on the way to the bathroom and had to sit down to get their bearings. Cobb county.

I know I know another sports bar. This one has more than just your run of the mill hot wings and burgers. This place has real Lousiana food on menu cooked to order. The staff is spot on especially Jordyn at the takeout counter. She is bubbly and knowledgeable of all products ( oh and my wife said i could mention to the younger generation she is also quite the cutie)!!! I'm telling you guys, this is the place to visit when you are looking for a spot to eat!!!! They have beignet sliders that are to die for I mean come on... hamburger patty topped with cheese and bacon on a warm powdered sugar begniet??? YES!!!! Sausage and turkey gumbo? My wife and I have gone back 3 times in a week so I can get more. Sweet potatoes fries that actually warm up well in the microwave the next morning? Unheard of! Trust me this is what I would call a premiere date or family spot. But don't take my word for it, go get you some!!!

Updated at the end with the latest status after leaving this review:

I had to wait a few days to leave this review because I was pretty pissed off. Eating out is expensive and you expect to get what you pay for. If you want to come here and get endless excuses and barely eat anything and still get charged for it all, this is definitely your spot.

Please allow me to describe the things in more deail which, have also put other local restaurants out of business. And with the attitude here and inability to cook, or carry basic bar staples, will likely kill this business within a year.

4 of us came out to try it together. We are neighbors, friends and locals to this restaurant. We are Engineers and business owners. Yes, we can afford to eat out. Out of the two drinks we ordered, one was a very basic dirty martini and one was a beer from the laminated (short) beer list which is placed at every table. They were out of the beer. Then we tried to get a second beer, and they were out of this too (also on the same laminated list). Then we went with a much more generic 3rd option and was able to get something. The martini came out with pimento stuffed olives (when we asked for Bleu cheese olives) and all 4 people tasted it. There was no trace of vodka, taste or smell and they simply had no vermouth. It was essentially a water martini with ice flakes and olive juice. This is a tremendous failure for any bar.

After ordering entrees, 3 came out cold. These weren't salads, folks. The burger came out with red onion and tomatoes which were not listed in the burger description. It was cold. The shrimp tacos were sent back once because the shrimp was breaded and sauced but somehow remained ice cold. Who wants ice cold shrimp tacos? Another plate came out with Cajun fish, rice and broccoli. The broccoli was raw, never even steamed and was ice cold. After telling the server, they resubmitted a broccoli order and it came out almost exactly the same. It maybe saw some warm water for under 30 seconds. The fish portion was thin and small. The rice was not cooked and was crunchy like chewing rocks. When mentioned to the server she just nodded and proceeded to take the plates away. The shrimp tacos came back out and while warm, some of the shrimp missed the breading and sauce?!

At the end of our visit the server proudly mentioned that she took the martini off the tab. Well, good. But for all other issues faced is that enough?

In short, none of us would come back due to lack of edible food, lack of customer service, lack of ability to make drinks or provide those listed on the "drink list" and lack of empathy for those that took the chance to venture out and give this place a try.

Update after 2 months: I contacted Walk-ons via the information they left in their reply to me below. Effectively it leads you to an un-monitored email inbox, as I have not received any emails, calls or voicemails. In summary: Do not waste your time here on their "Water" martinis, cold food with ingredients not listed on the menu and terrible service. ...

I’ve now been here several times. We have had 1 good server and complimented him and made sure to talk to manager about him. Sadly, looks like he’s gone because when you are good amongst a group of individuals who don’t care, it’s good that he moved forward. All of our other servers have just been in the restaurant somewhere at some time and barely present even when at our table. The only redeeming dnd consistent plate we have had as been the cheese logs and they’re likely from a box. I’ve had the chicken avocado and bacon sandwich And one of the chicken wraps. Both were so sloppy that they just fell apart and I had to eat them with a fork getting rid of the wrap or bun as inedible. The insides were just blah with a lot of sauce. I’ve had the grilled chicken salad w bacon, blue cheese, and avocado. The salad leaves were so big I just started pulling them out to find the toppings. In the end I had a piece of heavily season grilled chicken with the 6 small squares of unripened avocado, a tbsp of blue cheese and the fat of about a tbsp of bacon…for $16. The meals that my companion had included over season hard shrimp, over seasoned fish ( although I thought their grits were pretty good with the meal she hated them), and a burger where she had to undress it because it was so sloppy she couldn’t pick it up. I’ve now been 4 times, three times with another companion who was just as unhappy but each wanted to ā€œtry the placeā€.

Further my sister and her family went on one of the same days we went, but sat in a different section. Her server was very shady. She told her the kids drinks were free with the meal and said they could get whatever they wanted. They got lemonade and she rung them up for their refills as additional drinks. They were just thankful that the server only showed up to the table for refills one time. The 5 of them all got their dinners at separate times. They waited for 20 minutes for their bill and asked the server why there was a tip already included. She said that it was just a suggested tip and it wasn’t on their bill (since they were not a table of 8…but 5). My brother in law sat there and added it up for her and she still denied it. Managers were nowhere to be found. The only thing they could think is that she entered items, like the app and drinks as multiple seats and it showed as 8 plus people, so they did not leave an additional tip. Since all of their meal arrived separately, a couple of people were still finishing when the server came up and told them they needed to leave because they needed the table for other people. My niece ended up getting a box and finishing on the bench out front. As chance would have it, all the girls ended up going to the nail salon around the corner after the meal, where my sisters server apparently had an appointment and clearly the reason she needed to ā€œget them out of thereā€. So…yep, 4 times...

I have been nine times to this location now (four times for dinner and five times for lunch). I like the atmosphere of this place. Perfect lighting, all the televisions, lively noise level without being too loud.

The food is okay at best. I like the sliders appetizer, and the boom boom shrimp are pretty good. Gumbo is okay, but could use a touch more rice and meat for thickness. The salads are huge and filling. Overall, a lot of variety on the menu, with some items pretty good, and others not worth a second try.

The problem here is the service. I had two occasions where things just didn't go well. And unfortunately it was the same server on both occasions. The first time I ordered the sliders appetizer and requested those minus ketchup and send some mayo on the side. Easy instructions, right? But they came out smothered in ketchup and no mayo on the side. I decided not to complain on that occasion because of the newness of the place (figured the server didn't listen or care to follow instructions). Still it left a bad taste with me having to scrape off ketchup and making a second request for mayo.

Second instance of poor service was when there were four of us at the table. I had ordered an entree and a cup of gumbo for appetizer. Ten minutes or so pass and still no cup of gumbo. Finally one of our group received their entree, but the rest of us were kept waiting. The server came by and said he had entered the wrong table number for the order. So I am thinking that someone brought our food to the wrong table, and then it went back to the kitchen until it was figured out where it belonged (just my guess). Three or four minutes pass and finally our entrees arrive. But still no gumbo for my appetizer (which obviously should have been delivered long ago). So I told the server to cancel the gumbo and take it off my bill. I was not interested in eating an appetizer while my entree was now at the table. Instead of just "yes sir", the server gets pushy about trying to get me to take it. That didn't go over too well with me. The last straw was when the bill arrived and the gumbo was on the check. The server just looked at me with no apology or anything. I asked for it to be removed, which apparently manager approval is required to change a bill. I have no idea why the server would present the bill to me like that expecting me to pay it.

Servers here need to be trained better. I have said enough for now. I like this place and will come back. Hopefully there will be improvements...
