This restaurant, and the people who work there, feel somehow like family to me; like family you are just meeting for the first time, and you know right away, it's very unlikely your last. Everything we have tried is delicious, served in massive portions, or both! One of our favorite stops to pick up (run into Albertsons real quick, like so many others) or dine comfortably. Their soup is a treasure, and is often included free, even with pick-up orders. At first I thought they were being unwise giving away something so good for "free", until I realized that what they give you just makes you want more, like, if not today, at least sometime this week... Unlike some places (I will no longer publicly mention), they still include wasabi & pickled ginger when you get to splurge for a bento. White, brown, or fried rice ($1) comes as optional on most meals. I like the sauces I have tried, extra is available at modest cost. For us, we get enough for at least two meals each, which makes it an especially good value, IMHO. Everyone here works * extremely * hard, not just the one nice lady you see, in a city which can be particularly oblivious to how difficult it is to work in the (for most people) unrewarding food service industry. If you value anything I have written here, I would ask that you try and be as nice as possible when you visit...
Read moreThis place is amazing. Best Chinese anywhere on this side of the bridge. You can order out here, but the food tastes way better fresh at your table. It is kind of crispy, and once you put it in those to go boxes, the steam makes all the crispyness go away, which takes away from the flavor. Still good in to go boxes- just not as good. That being said- this place is soooooo busy. There is only one woman hard at work, to complete phone orders and take care of all customers. Every time we have been there, the wait has been at least 45 mins to get food. Maybe more. But it was worth it. I would say, go in at a weird time during the weekday, sit down, and enjoy great food. Highly recommend the generals chicken, its not very spicy, or the orange chicken. Sweet and sour is delicious as well. Portions are HUGE! For the Chinese anyway- not so much for the teriaki. Best...
Read moreThe fried rice is little more than rice with a few peas and carrots added in, the sauces are scanty (but very good!) you have to order xtra if you want enough to cover everything. Overall the food is very good and portions are decent, even without or doubling up the meats. One of the better spots in GH. The staff is very friendly and convivial-more than I remember from pre covid days. This is one of my “go to” teriyaki places. Prices are up as they are everywhere but not exceedingly so and well worth it. Dining in is cramped dingy and probably not the cleanest , but a lot of good food places are no more than that. So not an...
