I thought I remembered Barro's being more of a restaurant type of business but this was more like a fast food establishment. We weren't sure if we should have waited to be seated or just find a spot... We we're sure if someone was going to bring a menu or if we had to get one. Turns out you walk up to the counter to place your order and then cop a squat with a numbered flag and wait for the food. That is unless you order single slices. In that case they give you the slices and you find a place to eat. Unfortunately, the single slices were barely room temperature and all that is available is pepperoni, sausage, a combo of both, cheese, pineapple and the special which was BBQ chicken (not a fan of that flavor at all). I inquired about a slice of veggie or supreme and was advised it was a Friday special, I was a bit thrown bc I know lots of people who enjoy supreme regularly and wouldn't consider it to be "special" worthy. Which led me to think so if I want a supreme slice I have to wait until Friday? ORRR I have to order a whole pizza?? ORRR Can you add a few toppings to my existing slice. Needless to say I got a regular pepperoni slice that was not over cooked but head definitely sat in the warmer for at least an hour bc the cheese was not... Cheesy.... It was well not cheesy. At our table there was but parmesan cheese so I grabbed one from a nearby table and the shaker was filthy. It definitely had not been wiped down after the last use and I'm not sure if that was same day last use or yesterday bc our visit was early... 1030ish. I will say other than that the establishment was well maintained, they have a kids corner with the cutest toy kitchen set up and even a little table and chair setting for your little ones but the chairs were filthy. Not grimy like the shaker but visibly dirty like they hadn't been wiped down in a while and possibly never sanitized. No one in my group was moved by the food and two of us ended up sick within an hour and I'm sure it was the cheese shaker bc we are the only two who touched it like fools. We accept fault there bc common sense would have been to handle the shaker with a napkin, sanitize after using it or simple ask for another or packets. But against better judgement we welcomed the previous users germs right in and we paid for it dearly. Overall... I wouldn't return or recommend but I don't think you should base your visit on my experience bc I had a completely different idea of how my visit would go prior to entering and when I realized it was not what I'd hoped for I was already not feeling it. Read moreI've eaten at a bunch of Barro's locations around Arizona. And generally I've had pretty awesome pizza. This store is the exception and will break your heart. If you give them more than one chance, they'll surprise you with a new, idioticway to mess up your pizza and make damn sure you're annoyed because it was so easily preventable. Maybe they could consider a timer instead of burning half of my pizza. Maybe someone could explain that barely adding any reasonable amount of reasonable cheese... to my pizza... will not destroy their annual profit. Maybe someone could explain that people do infact try to eat the food they order, and they want cheese and toppings on the whole surface of the pizza, not just a fraction of it and juwt make the remainder primarily crust (which may or may not be burned). I hope the people that work here are unfortunate enough to get the same quality pizza that they sell next time they order. That way, they can use their tears of disappointment to season over the garbage they get that they try to pawn off to the rest of us. If there is a God that enjoys pizza and we're judged at the end of our days, everyone at this location should live in fear due to idiotic and easily preventable crimes against pizza.

Read moreI called at 10:30am to put a deferred order in for pickup at 3:30pm. Due to it being Super Bowl Sunday. I arrive at 3:30 and they can’t find the order in the system at first. Finally find it then tell me it’s going to be 45 mins. I assume because they forgot and didn’t start the order until I arrived. Frustrating but understandable mistakes happen and it’s busy for Super Bowl. So I wait for 55 mins with no order out and ask for an ETA as it’s now already 1 hour past my deferred time. I’m told my order is next to go in the oven. I wait another 35 mins and notice that orders after mine are going out. I was order 245 and they were handing out orders in the 270s. I ask the ETA again and they somehow “misplaced” or gave out my order to someone else. At this point I asked for a refund. I called and set a deferred time for 3:30 and waited until 5pm only to walk out with nothing for the Super Bowl party. I get mistakes happen but this was ridiculous. I’ve had this store “lose orders” in the past as well but I’m understanding and don’t typically complain. I’ve even had deliveries go wrong. Today was worth the complaint though. Trash service for a $65 order for 2 pizzas and wings. Probably...
