Horrible first experience. I was recommended Big Hawaiian by a friend. Went inside to order about 550pm sat April 2, 2022. Ordered my number 13 combo and side of mac salad. Then I sat down at the nearby tables where I proceeded to wait. While waiting I saw about 5 other groups come in, order and get their food before me. Everyone else was dining in, so I assumed I was placed in queue behind the multitude of other to-go orders as they were very busy. I gave them the benefit of the doubt as it's a sat at 6pm so long waits are normal most busy restraunts. It was not until I noticed a to-go that came in about 30 min after me get their food. So I finally went up and asked about my order thinking maybe it got lost. Nope, it was sitting next to the register with several other togo orders for god knows how long. They claimed to have called my number multiple times which was a blatant lie as I was sitting inside the whole time hearing every other number be called. They then said they didn't know what my specific number was because they knew I had been waiting but didn't bother to ask. They went out of their way to come out and hand others their orders but couldn't bother to ask me what my number was. They knew I was there waiting. After making their excuses I just took my food, said thank you and left. the entire wait time was roughly 40-45mins which again if the cook time was that long I would be okay but the fact that it was ready they just waited for me to come up instead of just asking me is what gets me. As for the food, The mac salad was the best part. Katsu chicken was good. As for the bbq beef and bbq chicken I recommend Ono Hawaiian to be completely honest. To anyone still trying them out I suggest calling ahead as to...

I had a very disappointing experience at Big Island BBQ in Gilbert. I placed an online order scheduled for pickup at 5:15 PM. I arrived on time, checked in, and sat down to wait. As I waited, I noticed several other orders being called—at least six or more—including numbers higher than mine.

After a while, I approached the cashier to check on my order. That’s when they realized my order had been completely overlooked and forgotten. No one had started preparing it, and there was no communication or update given to me until I spoke up. Even after this mistake was acknowledged, no one apologized. The cashier was unprofessional and made no effort to take responsibility or offer any kind of compensation for the delay and inconvenience.

Mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability and basic customer service made the situation worse. I won’t be returning, and I hope they improve their process and...

I dont leave alot of reviews unless I have a really good or a really bad experience. Decided to give this place a shot after noticing it while getting gas at Costco. The portions are good sized and they have alot of options. I assumed that the pork was going to be the best since this is whats most Hawaiian BBQ is famous for but the young man taking orders recommended the beef. I decided to do beef and pork combo and I was very happy I did. The beef was very good similar to korean bilgogi, but the pork was wonderful! Perfectly seasoned to the point you really don't even need the BBQ sauce. I have gone to culinary school and am not easily impressed mostly see failures and poor execution but this place hit a home run! I can tell that there us alot of love and pride for the product that is being...

My family and I were craving something different from our usual fast-food routine, so we decided to give Big Island Hawaiian BBQ a try — and I’m so glad we did. We’ve driven past it countless times, always curious, and now I wish we had stopped in sooner. Having tried most of the popular Hawaiian spots around town — Aloha Kitchen, Ono Hawaiian BBQ, Moku’s, and Moki’s — I can confidently say Big Island Hawaiian BBQ has earned a spot in my top three. The customer service was fantastic, and despite a crowd of people waiting for their orders, the wait time was impressively short.

Wow! After months of driving by this place I finally tried it. Everything was delicious, I ordered the Kalua pork and teriyaki chicken. It comes as pictured, with cabbage and broccoli underneath. The chicken was cooked perfectly, slightly blackened on the outside and still moist on the inside; with sticky rice and delicious macaroni salad, and the cabbage was cooked perfectly. The pork comes with sauce on the side so you can dip or put as much or little on as you want. Simply outstanding and you get so much quality food for the cost! 10/10 would recommend

Wow! The value here is top notch. At the time of this review prices of food and overall inflation are at record levels, and despite all that, this place still has tremendous value for the dollar. I always know I'm in for a treat when I get my food and the bag feels heavy. We got a mountain of delicious food. I'm not normally a macaroni salad kind of guy, but I loved the stuff here. The chicken katsu and the fish were wonderful. We just moved to this area and I know already this place is going to be one we frequent.
