Discovery Park is a delightful community gem that perfectly balances nature and recreation. This park offers a serene atmosphere ideal for families, couples, and solo visitors. One of the standout features is the picturesque fishing area, where anglers of all skill levels can enjoy a quiet day by the pond. There is playground area, pavilions of all different sizes and a ball area for sports such as soccer/football & volleyball. There are Walking paths throughout the park, allowing for peaceful strolls surrounded by nature. The combination of fishing spots, a vibrant playground, and scenic walking paths makes Discovery Park a perfect destination for a day out. Discovery Park is a wonderfully versatile location that caters to a variety of interests. Whether you want to cast a line, enjoy a picnic, or watch children play, this park is well worth a visit!

One of the nicest parks I've been to in Greater Phoenix! I've lived in the Phoenix region for over 7 years and, between all the sports that my kids play, I've been to more parks than I'm able to count - and this morning I visited Discovery District Park for a rugby game. Aside from the variety of things in this park (lakes with fishing, small hills for bikes, fields, walking paths, picnic areas, beach volleyball and basketball courts, intertwined with walking paths) this park was a great place, with lots of friendly community members, to visit. As in its easy access location, and the close shipping district with lots of quick food options for hungry athletes, and this is one of the best parks I've been to in the region.

This was a pretty cool park. It's actually not 100% a park there's about four swings and a little rock climbing area. They also have a basketball court and a volleyball area. Walking around the whole entire park distance would be a couple miles so that's awesome. They have steps to work out on also which was cool. a good place to take kids to go rollerblading, riding a scooter or biking. Also a lots of area for dogs to run around people were fishing. You can see it from the road it was a very easy place to find. A couple people had birthdays there it's a very open space.

It's not one of the biggest lake park out there. If you want bigger and cleaner, I would recommend instead driving the 12 minutes from that park to instead check out Veteran Oasis. This park is better for convenience though as it's pretty much right off the highway (although the downside to that was you could hear and see the cars driving as you were walking, so it did not feel like you were immersed in nature). There was plenty of parking. Walking through the park, I saw two lakes, plenty of ducks although a lot of them looked tattered and unkempt.., and there were sidewalks that traversed around the lakes. The sidewalks at certain parts were coated with duck dropping. The lake itself looked nice from a distance, but coming in closer- there was some scummy material floating around... Aside from the lake, it had a small playground, a field of grass that you could play soccer in, with a tall stair-like wall that had graffiti on it, a volleyball and basketball court, and a few picnic ramadas that provided...

This could be a great it the creeps could be removed. If I'm sitting in my vehicle with sunshades motor running, its not an invitation to you creeps to knock on my window.

Unleashed dogs seems to be alright. The other day I was at the park a couple with a large dog and a lap dog decided to unleash their dogs and rin circles around my vehicle. Apparently they have drug sniffing dogs in the park. Then there are the regular homeless people who think they own the park. If Im there after 3:00 p.m. they start going through trash cans walking close to my vehicle looking like they are about to have a mental crisis. This is some tactic they use to run people out the park. The park closes around 10:00p.m. they want for themselves. Mind you this park is mostly empty after the soccer games. Because I do not socialize with anyone at the park its a reason to call the police and park ranger. I dont know what else goes pn at this park but something is running...

Discovery Park is over of those great places that has something for everyone. Of course, there are the ubiquitous lighted soccer fields, buyer there are also other fields for pickup haves of flag football or ultimate frisbee. There are paved trails that circle two fish ponds complete with resident ducks, turtles and fish. Benches along the way make for convenient spots to relax. Some are even shaded. There are several picnic shelters, but you'll need to reserve one on busy weekends. The park sports a pair of sand volleyball courts and a concrete basketball court. There is also a pay area for younger children with swings and climbing boulders. Finally, there is a dirt trail, perfect for jogging or biking, that rings the entire park. Named for the discovery of a woolly mammoth skeleton found on the site during excavation, Discovery Park is a great neighborhood park that appeals to all members of...
