I drive for a food delivery company and was in your store located at 1999 E Pecos Rd, Gilbert AZ 85295 for a pickup of an order at approximately 2:30pm today (8/17/2022). Your employee taking orders at the time was identified as Christina. I went to the counter to let her know I was there to pick up an order for our mutual customer. She barely acknowledged me and just told me they were working on it. I patiently waited for the order. For about the next 15 minutes I watched Christina rudely take orders (with little to no eye contact) from several customers who you could tell were clearly irritated with her level of service or lack thereof. She seemed disinterested in her job. I got several looks from customers leaving the counter after being treated rudely. All I could do was shrug. I struck up a conversation with one customer as the store was out of a particular item. We talked about the food and supply chain problems that seemed to plague many restaurants. The customer received their order and he asked Christina for a straw. There were none left in the dining and beverage area. Christina left the counter and went back to completing other orders without really acknowledging the request. The customer and I continued our pleasant conversation for a few minutes but the customer asked again for a straw. She threw the straw on the counter and said "I heard you the first time" to the customer. My mouth hit the floor. The customer shook his head, turned around and walked to the dining area clearly in disbelief. I told Christina at that point that it was totally uncalled for to treat a customer that way. I just couldn't stand there and watch it anymore. I asked to speak with a manager. Christina, ignoring my request, walked out from behind the counter with a handful of straws to refill the tray in the beverage and dining area. As she walked back to the counter she looked at me and rolled her eyes. I told her not to roll her eyes at me with which she responded "SHUT THE F' UP!". I then demanded to see a manager and was irate. A gentleman identified himself as a manager and asked what the problem was. I asked why did his employee tell me to "SHUT THE F' UP."?). All he said was that he would speak to her. Nothing more. This employee needs to be fired or severely disciplined. There is no reason for an employee representing Popeyes Restaurants to be conducting themselves in this manner.
I request to speak with either the owners or the district manager of this store. I find it hard to believe this is the conduct they would condone at their business. The management there is severely lacking as I witnessed employees malingering and doing next to nothing. I am a business owner as well and know what damage a cancerous employee like...
Read moreI don't know what happened. We got in the line and everyone just turned their cars off because that's how long we've been waiting. The car in front of us says baby on board but that baby's going to be a teenager by the time we get our food and it'll probably be rancid or mummified or some other level of preservation. I'm absolutely astonished that I've waited this long in line. I'm in a four-wheel drive car. I'm thinking about jumping the curb driving across the desert running over Bushes just to get out of here. I'm currently wondering what's going on. I feel like I'm in a circle from Milton's Paradise Lost not the bottom rung of hell. But the hell that you get stuck in for doing something you didn't know was bad and they've stuck you in the Drive-Thru of Paradise Popeyes.
I started to look off to the right and I saw what happened to the people that were before me. I'm absolutely astonished that they died from exposure here in the desert with no food. No water stuck in this line. It is clearly the thing of nightmares. I can't be positive but if I look closely at the skeletons on the side I can see I bite marks on the bones which means people resorted to cannibalism as they were waiting in line here at Popeyes. And my God, I can't believe it. They're eating the cats. They're eating the dogs. They're eating the pets of the people who live here.
My son who is sitting next to me in the car becoming unglued to the point where I think he's going to make a break for it. I don't know if he'll make it to the end of Pecos and not die from exposure, but there's a good chance for it. I won't have to pay tuition at ASU.
I can see that people are so desperate to eat the food. They've started to sell their plasma while sitting here in the Drive-Thru. It's a truly awful thing to see.
Obviously I forgot or I wasn't told that this is now a sit-down restaurant that you can drive through and that you have to wait up to 25 to 50 minutes for your food.
But it all became very clear after we got our food. Oh my God, they're owned by a private equity firm. Everything makes sense now because they...
Read morePlaced an order on the app for drive-thru pickup. When I arrived at the drive-thru, no one greeter or responded to multiple hellos. After wating for 2-3 minutes, pulled around to the windows. The employee opened the window and looked at me without greeting me or asking how could she help me. Told her I was here to pick up an online order amd she replied that she was "filling a million orders, so you'll have to come inside the restaurant."
Came into the restaurant and there were 4 people ahead of me in line. 3 people got their orders and the 4th person placed an order at the register. I don't take issue with any of this - mild inconvenience but still feeling good about my food.
The problem I had was the way the food was being handled. Granted, there's only 2 employees working (LaTanya and another unknown person wearing an apron) and no one is wearing gloves. LaTanya (who just handled cash from the 4th person in line) proceeds to press the paper wrapper into the box bare-handed.
Because I was disgusted, I told her to cancel my order. She replied I needed to go online to do that. I said fine - also asked if she was supposed to be wearing gloves when she's handling food. She replied that she didn't have time to do that and asked if I see how hectic it is right now. I replied yes, but that doesn't mean that you press the paper into the box bare-handed. She asked why did I care if the order wasn't for me? I asked for her name, told her and the other employee that they should be concerned about food safety.
This was a disappointing and disgusting experience. I'm not trying to get food poisoning from a restaurant that tolerates employees disregarding food safety. The employees needed help. This is a recipe for disaster: for the employees working their butts off and for the customers who may be consuming food that wasn't...
