Very disappointing experience. Since they do not take reservations on the weekends, you have to put your name down. We had a rather medium to large group, had gone over ahead of time to inform them. They took my name and number, guest count said it would be an hour to hour half.
After that estimated time, it was clear that they were not even trying to accommodate. Had a few people who went in to sit at the bar around the hour mark to just watch and continously watched tables be turned and more groups 2 to 4 people be continously sat.
I think this is a split blame between the service staff and the management of the establishment. It is pretty pathetic to be in 2024 with so many different platforms to handle reservations and even deposits that you can not setup a configuration to properly handle medium size reservations. If you have a policy to not take reservations on popular nights that is fine but make sure your staff is adequately trained on how to handle those request when they do walk in.
This is where we switch to failure on the staff. It was evidently clear that the hostesses/waiter at the front was trying to deter business by stating it would an hour to over an hour before they could get us seated multiple times. After stating multiple times we were okay with that, you could see there was frustration. The next step was to take our info on a blank piece of paper with no organization, with a promise to give us a text after that ~1 1/2hour wait when they were ready. After over 3 hours still no update.
Fast forward to the 3-4 hours later, with no communication we decided to stop by with now half the group. Plenty of empty space, but no one actively watching the door/hostesses stand.
Kitchen was closed by the time we were able to order. Drinks there they do try to do a different or unique twist, drinks i would give them a 3 1/2 to 4 star. Bartender's interaction once again echoed their colleagues after saying we had a group, you could hear the disappointment and frustration. Probably the only thing saving this overall experience was the Gentleman serving us. He was very personable, knowledgeable and as far as I can tell was holding down most of the patio portion.
I refuse to recommend this to anyone after this experience. To many other places near by with cocktail menues who can adequately handle and want...
Read moreHad a great first experience here for cocktails. Decided to come back with new people and was very disappointed. Not only could our waitress not suggest a single drink off the menu based on what we liked but she could not tell us what ingredients were nor did she try to go ask. Her response was always “everything on the menu is good”. After finishing our first round of cocktails we waited 20 mins before our waitress came to check on us. All the while, we watched her eating food behind the bar the entire time. I eventually went up to the bar to order a second round of drinks. She watched me do this and never said a thing. Finally when our food came the queso was so hard and the chips were paper thin. Took 2 bites and set it off to the side. Paid $20 for “steak” tacos and received large piles of lettuce and pepper tacos with the 2 tiniest pieces of meat buried underneath. When the waitress came to grab our plates she never asked how the meal was or asked why the queso was barely touched. Terrible customer service and overly priced subpar food. Would not recommend for food or happy hour as there are much better places downtown for that. Might come back for a specialty cocktail and hope for the best as far as customer service goes, but the owner should really train their staff better and offer a bigger selection on the...
Read moreCame here to celebrate my one year anniversary with the lady. I'd done a bit of research online in advance, I was looking for something that balanced a good looking menu with an atmosphere to match and this place did not disappoint.
It's located on the main street in Gilbert where there's a little walking and shopping one can do, and there was a good bit of parking available.
We were seated promptly at a booth with a perfect view of the sunset (a full hour ahead of the time I made a reservation for). Our host offered to raise the visor and gave us a stunning view of the evening sunset. Drinks were ordered and enjoyed. They have a really cool selection of unique drink choices you won't find elsewhere.
For the appetizer we got the yucca fries. These are a must. We were blown away by how good they were, the yucca was perfectly fried, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside.
We ordered the filet mignon on potato pancakes for our main. That was when we decided we'll be coming back here every anniversary. We couldn't believe how good it was, there's some real craftsmanship going on in the kitchen here. Even the veggies laid on top were flawless. The view of the desert sun slowly sinking into the mountains was the perfect backdrop for...
