To say we were extremely disappointed would be an understatement!! Our waitress was super sweet however the food was a -10!! We waited over 40 minutes for our appetizers. As we sat there eating them two tables were sat right next to us. ( Mind you we ordered our main course long before we even got our appetizers) I would say about 25 minutes pasted and still no main course. We were waiting on Mac ‘n’ cheese and a burger. As we sat there waiting we watched as both tables next to us ate their appetizers and main meal. When we asked what was the hold up we were told ours was almost up and they were sorry for the wait. Once our meal ( an hour and half after we were sat) arrived it was awful! The Mac ‘n’ cheese had absolutely no cheese or flavor what so ever!! My husband’s burger was well, well done even though he ordered medium rare. Not to mention when we first got sat,! we were given two to go cups and told all the glass was dirty! The waitress was sweet but had some sort of excuse for everything! I decided since my food was plain gross and we had already waited so long I would get dessert to go! Big big mistake!! We ended up waiting another 15-20 minutes for a cookie. Mind you it wasn’t very busy!! I have been a waitress one and off for 18 years. More on then off. So I totally understand how things can go wrong in a restaurant! However this was way beyond any of that! Once my cookie came, I didn’t even look at it! We just left! We had already been two hours. When I got home and decided to eat my cookie it was burnt and hard as a rock! Not even trying to warm it in the microwave would help! I’m grateful they comped the main meals however this was just awful all the way around! We have never had a meal take so long or taste so awful! ( don’t forget about the dessert that was too hard...
Read moreUpdate 1-20-25 unfortunately old Chicago continues to go down hill. Their happy hour is now nearly pointless, they do a poor job of taking care of their help so they consistently loose their good help and their tours have gotten to be pretty much pointless yet extremely expensive. they seldom bring in new beers. the food quality is sub par. they do still have some great help but that also will change if they don't figure out their issues. Update: First of all old Chicago in Gillette Wyoming has Very friendly service (with a couple exceptions) some of the best servers of any place I have ever been, they are knowledgeable, always willing to do what they can to make it a good visit. They are very upbeat and personable and they tend to get to know you on a note personal level always welcoming you back on return visits. There is good selection of food items ( I like the calzones, wings, and pizza) and a happy hour that is difficult to beat. The volcano wings are in my opinion one of the best type of wings available that while not officially on the menu anymore they are always willing to make for me. Parking is really good with an area for vehicles with trailers. Lots of indoor seating and outdoor seating. for me this is the best old Chicago I have been to. I am VIP for the beer tour and I believe the card is very worthwhile as I thoroughly enjoy trying new beers and the discount is great the new system implemented by corporate is very clunky and not user friendly at all for staff nor visitors doing the mini tours but that's company wide not specific to gillette.
Great taproom that changes regularly friendly service. Good happy hour....
Read moreSome back ground: I am 7 months pregnant and have a toddler. I was falling asleep on the couch while husband and son snuggled and I still needed to make dinner. My husband gently touched my face and told me he tried postmates to have some pizza delivered. We are new to town and have never tried delivery services before. An hour goes by we are all hungry and postmates said they had a driver ready to pick our food up. This was not true. I. Allen the restaurant to see if they had any insight, they let us know our food was ready for us but there were no drivers. So we went to pick it up ourselves. Being so hungry I asked if they could seat us there so we could eat instead of going home. They were very busy but gladly seated us and served us with so much kindness. The food was delicious, the pasta dish was only ok but the calzone, appetizers and drinks were beyond incredible. The manager stopped at our table to apologize for postmates and it was so appreciated but not necessary since the restaurant did their part. We were so happy to have such delicious food and amazing service we are definitely making this our date night...
