Coasters Brew Pub — Restaurant in Oregon

My wife and I have been going here just about since it first opened. We always order the steak and bacon salad, it is expensive but the first time we got it the amount and quality of the ingredients was amazing. Slowly the portions of meat lessened, then the quality tanked. Since then I make it a point to order my steak rare because I think it is interesting to see the chef try to make such a small piece of meat cooked rare. On our most recent visit the steak was chewy and full of fat, the salad had hardly any bacon and most of it was fatty. The last 3 times we went the "brew pub"did not have its signature IPA or the second most popular IPA. As we were leaving we noticed what you would see parked outside a school cafeteria, at stadiums and hospitals, a Food Services Of America truck. While FSOA is a fine company, the food quality is poor. What I fear is this restaurant has made the fatal mistake of buying cheap food to save on cost, unfortunately the food is the main reason people go to a restaurant, without quality food people will stop coming.

UPDATE: It appears they have switched venders for the restaurant supply. the quality of food went way up whilst maintaining a reasonably priced menu. Staff is friendly and checks on you regularly even if you are seated outside. I try to make it here once a week or so because of the great value. Updated from 3...

Edited: I talked with the owner a while back, as far as I can tell the glass is being picked up at a much more decent hour. I really think it’s great the owners made changes when they didn’t have to by law, and weren’t obligated to by any stretch. I’ll continue going to Coasters all the time for that reason.

Original Review: This place is great, but they have a glass pick up scheduled for Wednesday at 4am every week, and as far as I can tell have done nothing to change it. I called the owner, the store, etc. For the people living in the area the crashing of the glass shoots the whole family awake.

I know its technically a public utility but its just been slow torture to live close enough to hear it. Getting glass bottles picked up doesn’t seem to be on the same scale as an ambulance siren waking people up.

I would have not bought a home in the area had I done inspections on a Wednesday at 4am.

Not a Brew Pub- they don’t brew here. Yes they have some beers on tap, but not a wide range. Stopped here hoping to find a wide selection of beer, or maybe a good brew I did not really get either. I wanted to at least get a good burger, if not the beer I hoped for. First time it was pretty good. Second time it was not so good. Last time I stopped there was 12/01/17 about 4:40 pm, it was awful! I had not eaten lunch so I was famished, really really hungry!When I’m hungry like that, almost anything tastes good, even what is less than good. That burger was a greasy hockey puck, in other words- cooked to 100% solid state, greasy on the outside and only tasted of burned fat. The fries here are awesome! Hot and crispy.
