We came here on a Wednesday night that was relatively slow. We started with some drinks, the calamari and the seasonal roasted beet and squash salad. Spiced Pear and Bourbon which is good for any whiskey lover. If they could infuse a bourbon themselves instead of a simple and make a spiced pear purée I think it could bring it to the next level. Also had the Summit Punch which again a little too syrupy and sweet. Nothing necessarily bad, but it left me wanting more. The calamari was kind of disappointing. The breading was soggy on the calamari itself, but the fried peppers were delicious. The sauce was a weird thick consistency that made it difficult to get any without the use of a fork. The seasonal salad was amazing. The poppy seed dressing complimented the squash really well and the beets gave it a nice earthy tone to the wintery salad. I couldn’t recall the goat cheese but looking at the picture it might’ve been forgotten. For entrées I ordered the Seasonal Grilled salmon with mushroom risotto. I asked for it medium and was told they all were served medium. I provided the second picture to show that it in fact was pretty well done. The risotto itself tasted great, just wanted a little more from the mushrooms themselves. The char on the grilled salmon overpowered anything the risotto would give besides a little hint of what was maybe thyme. The salmon itself was good, not medium but still moist and seasoned well. I’d prefer it with a micro green salad to cut the richness of the risotto and salmon. And maybe showcase the marks from the grill The stuffed Salmon dish wasn’t really that good. The mashed potatoes were a great consistency and tasted great, salmon was cooked nicely but a little bland. Agree with another review that said it lacked a little seasoning. The veggies would have been a nice accompaniment but also needed more flavor or better roasting. Both? Most people don’t like veggies that are bland and eh, my company hardly touched them Other than the food the floors looked like they could be cleaned better. A build up of dust on the sill of the windows and pebbles on the feet of the tables follows the lack of attention to the small details. Our server did a fine job but could tell he was fairly new. A finger caught some salad while placing it and spilled some of the gimlet I ordered later on which was good. A good experience, but nothing memorable. Not to say I wouldn’t be back to try it again, just see the potential and...
Read moreWe decided to go here to celebrate a rare date night and had made reservations online. We had no problem being seated, but they gave us a very small table on the corner part of a booth seat that had us feeling like we were in the laps of the tables on either side of us. The server wrote the wrong salad down for one meal, which wasn't a huge deal, but by the time the replacement salad was brought out, I was finished eating and my husband was just ready for steaks and no longer wanted the salad. The server seemed put off by this and just left our table, and we waited maybe another 15 minutes before a passing server asked if we wanted the empty salad bowl removed. Again, not typically a big deal but the table was already small and we were about to get two large dinner plates. This passing server was also the one to offer us refills. When we finally did get our steaks the server quickly left before we could check the cook. Both steaks came out under, though mine was still done enough for me to willingly eat it. We waited at least 5 minutes before my husband had to go to the bar to request a corrected steak. Once the steak finally came out, I'm assuming it was a Manager- though they never did State that- that brought it to us. My husband cut this new one open and it was well over done. The man tried to tell us it was medium well and that there was a thin strip of pink in the center. This steak was grey straight through, and when my husband tried it just because he was starving at this point, it was so overseasoned he couldn't eat it. When we asked to speak to a manager we waited another 10 minutes before the server came over and asked if a manager had come by yet. We asked for the check at that point and as he brought it to the table the manager arrived. We explained the issues we'd had and she looked at the ticket, which we hadn't had a chance to view yet, and said something to the effect of, "somethings wrong with the steak? I just walked by and saw you eating." We again, explained one steak was okay but not great and the other was incorrect and did not get eaten. She then said there was only one steak on the ticket so they already took care of it. What more did we want? Again, never saw the ticket ourselves, so this came off as very rude. Overall the experience has left a very sour taste in our mouths, and we won't be coming back anytime soon. Which is a shame, because we loved the steak the first...
Read moreWe chose this place due to the many positive reviews and the fact that I had actually been there for Brunch a few years ago. It was Saturday night, and I had a reservation for 4. It was obviously crowded, but we were seated immediately. They took us to their side room, where we had to squeeze between the chairs of people eating. Once we were seated, it took 30 minutes before our server arrived. It took another 10 minutes for us to get water. Let me just say, she was rude all night and it was obvious that she didn’t want to be working at this point. We got the appetizer, calamari, but they brought it out and had not given any of us silverware. Another 5 minutes to flag someone down to bring us silverware. When the server finally arrived back to take our order, I started off by ordering the prime rib sandwich. She immediately says “I’m SURE they’ve been out of this for hours”, not “hey, I’ll have to check on that”. It took another 45 minutes to get our food. She didn’t refill drinks, so my husband shared my water. We got the food and none of were impressed. My fish and chips tasted as though it had just been sitting under lights to keep it warm. The fries were clearly old fries and were stuck together by grease. They were the worst fries/chips that I have ever had, and how hard is it to screw up fries? My husband had the corned beef and noticed the same thing. His corned beef was flavorless and he said it looked like it had been “stewing” for some time. Same thing with the rest of the food. Nothing special. With the prices, you would think they would be at least good, but there was nothing served at our table that would make us come back to this restaurant. But the service was totally unacceptable. We rarely complain about service, especially on a Saturday night, but as stated before, this lady did not want to be there. When one person in our party had ordered the seared ahi tuna, which was hidden beneath a ton of wonton chips, she looked at her plate and said “so you don’t like it?”, and proceeded to tell her that if she just wanted the tuna, she SHOULD have ordered it without the huge amount of wonton chips. We were there over 2.5 hours, which is ridiculous. If I could rate the service a negative number, I would. We go out to eat at least 1-2 times per week, and I am frustrated that we chose this place. There are much...
