MexiPHO - Mexican Vietnamese Fusion — Restaurant in Glastonbury

I like the idea of this place. I'd like this place to do well. A few things, my soup could have been hotter. I don't know if it's cause the veggie broth isn't as popular, or what. The noodles were firmer than I would have liked, had the broth been served hotter, the way pho is normally served, the heat would have been enough to cook the noodles all the way. The staff was friendly. The price is okay, but Chipotle doesn't charge extra for guacamole when you don't get any protein and it's also a little cheaper for no protein or the sofritos. Also, they give you a huge dollop compared to what my friend got on his burrito here. I understand Chipotle is a huge chain, but the concept of this place is the same, but with a Vietnamese option. Lastly, I really don't think they make their own broth here, not the veggie one anyway. I'm allergic to msg and got a slight reaction. My own fault for not asking about their broth tho, I normally ask everywhere I go. I was beyond the point of hunger tho, and forgot.

Ps. That hot oil stuff, yes it really is extremely hot. I literally only put a few drops and that was hotter...

I just ordered from here online for the first time. I ordered a $12.50 taco plate and tipped before I got there. I received a text confirmation saying to pick my food up at 11:40, on my lunch break. I get there and they do not have my order. They reset their computer and found it and began making it. I picked beef online and was charged 1.00 extra for this, they told me I paid for ground beef. When i asked if ground beef usually is an upcharge they just dismissed me and acted as they would do it as a favor. They then asked me soft or crunchy which isnt a question online, so I answered. Then i found out the 12.50 taco plate is just a basket with three tacos, beans and rice would have been extra, again, not explained online. It also didnt come with a drink, and even though I wasnt having a great first impression, nothing was offered to me for their mistake such as a free drink. That would be 3.25 extra. After its all said and done, I honestly like Taco Bell steak better, not very good, and had I got rice, beans, and a drink it would have been about 25.00 with tip for a taco plate!! ...

Some slack here and i will try ONCE MORE before I am going to leave you guys at 1 star and no one deserves a review on a first impression alone...for 2 reasons, you seemed to look out for your company, i get that..... I put in a doordash order and paid ~$6.75 for simple chips, in fairness i asked for a large portion, and a small cup of queso. They wanted me to add 9 bucks!!! Total of 15 bucks for a simple order of chips where if I walked in MIGHT have been 8 bucks.

This Review pending my next visit, I get people are all pinching pennies, and I get the employees are looking out for the company, and I didnt think the very helpful woman at the front desk deserved a slam, she was great.

But if I have this experience again the review drops and this is a different story, 15 bucks for a bag of chips and 3 little plastic cups?!

Do better, and we shall see because I live nearby now and I actually liked the chips, which for the record to avoid any further issue paid 12 bucks total.... 12 bucks Chips Guac Salsa Queso
