China wok — Restaurant in Glendale Heights

I was in the area and this is the first time I ordered from China Wok at 1159 Bloomingdale Road in Glendale Heights, IL. I ordered Large Shrimp Fried Rice. It was picked up and complete on time. This has to be the nastiest Shrimp Fried Rice I have ever had. The rice was the yellow Spanish rice with a few vegetables in it. It tasted like a regular box of Spanish rice with no flavor. I called back to restaurant and spoke to a lady that said her name was Shirley. I advised her that I was given the Spanish rice and that is not what I ordered and she should give some of my money back. She told me they have been using that yellow ice for over 10 years and nobody complain but me. She kept saying you ask for Fried rice and that's what they have always used and I don't need to come back. After repeatedly advising her Shrimp fried rice is not usually Spanish rice she hung up on me.I will not recommend anyone to eat here. It was very bad service...

My first order from this place was the 21 shrimp and sweet and sour pork and also crab Rangoon. It was probably the best meal I've ever had. However, I ordered again but this time I went in person and I will just say that I don't believe that it was the same service they missed a couple of items on my order and it just felt rushed. consistency is a thing with me I think that if you do it the first time it should be a consistent thing of great customer service great food great preparation... The food was ready quick, but that was honestly the only good part of my experience here. We moved into the area a little while ago and have been searching for a good Chinese place ever since, and after trying China Wok we are definitely still looking. I'm not sure what food the positive reviewers had but I just don't see any way it could have been anything from here. The food was just incredibly lack luster all around. A real lack of spices and seasoning, of flavor overall. I did not find it authentic at all. Everything seemed somewhat Americanized.
