Hello, I went for lunch and had the Birria Tacos that are only served on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I have come to realize that this dish is missing some seasoning, notably salt. I say this as this is the second time I’ve had “birria tacos” at 2 different places, and both were missing salt. Now this could be my taste buds that, I hate to say, have become accustomed to the sodium bombs we find at one of the more non-traditional fast food establishments (anybody making a run to the border soon?; wink wink.). But the Birria tacos were just flat. Could it be the consommé is made for the day and as it simmers and reduces the flavors become more pronounced, I don’t know but certainly something I need to consider. Don’t get me wrong, I finished my tacos as they were made well. Good crunch on the shell and I gladly dipped or poured the consommé over my tacos before each bite. I also got red and green salsa as well as picked jalapeños. I am such a spice fiend that I couldn’t find the heat. I ordered a large horchata that I crushed. The person at the front was extremely nice and I would return just knowing that I genuinely felt she appreciated our business. They have a full menu from quesadilla, burritos, tacos, etc. Note, I did order shrimp tacos to go and I was surprised they didn’t use full shrimp but the reconstituted mini shrimp you would find more as a flavoring in other ethnic dishes - probably won’t be getting that again. And I only got those because they didn’t have any fish tacos. Overall, good food, my buddy had the Heavos con chorizo that he crushed. I will go back probably for the more traditional carne asada or Al pastor...
Read moreI called and placed an order for pick up. The person I was talking to was friendly and took my order. When I picked up the food, I had no issues. The food was pretty expensive for a burrito and quesadilla. It was good but not 24 dollars good. I checked the food delivery apps and saw that they charge the same amount for in person orders as they do with online orders through Uber. There are places nearby that don't charge the Uber tax if you call and pick up yourself. This isn't one of those places.
Anyways, while the food was good, it wasn't anything special where it stands out. The burrito I ate had a piece of bone in it that I bit down on. Luckily it was pretty big and I didn't bite down hard so it really didn't do damage to me. I just pulled it out of my mouth and set it aside to take a picture of it. The steak quesadilla was good but not great.
This place doesn't stand out well to me. The food is alright but the price point is bad. The bone in the burrito made me hesitant about that food going forward. It could really mess up someone's teeth if they bit down hard on one and leaves a feeling that you might bite or choke on another piece of bone if you keep eating and aren't careful. Either easy, I probably won't eat...
Read moreThis place is so rude and can never get anything correct. My order was totally wrong. I order the food took 15 minutes to cook frys. I was meeting my daughter on her lunch hour, at her work for lunch. When I get there open the order NOTHING was correct. She ordered 2 beef tacos cheese only on flour shells. My order was 2 beef tacos. I have no idea whAaat it was but she was forced to scrap everything off and eat what she didn’t order. I didn’t eat mine basically because I had no idea what it was. After my daughters lunch I went back there told them what happened And gave them my tacos back, she gave me the money back with a disgusted look for my 2 tacos. This smart alick punk P.O.S. Says to me your making a big deal about this. I said yea I am when I place a order and plan on having lunch with someone on there lunch hour I expect that order to be correct. He just stands there smirking and waving by by. It’s funny I’ve gone to other Elfamous’s and they are so nIce, and orders on always correct. This one in Glendale Heights, IL are total jerks, slower then slow, and can’t get...
