DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!
Are you familiar with, âbait and switchâ? Thatâs where a salesman lures you in with a price that you think fits your budget. Then as you begin writing up the sale he says, âOopsy, did I forget to mention these hidden fees?â
I went into the Boelter store to buy a stove when one of their employees, Scott asked if he could help. Initially he needed to ask a more experienced coworker, Bob to assist in finding me the stove I wanted. During that time, Bob told me, âWhat separates us from the competition is our service. The other guys may sell you the stove cheaper, but they just pull up in a semi and say, âHere it is. Get your guys and take it off yourself and set it up yourself.â Thatâs not what we do. We bring it in for you and set it up for you. And then weâre there for you. If you have any problems you can come to us.â Now I saw a similar stove in their store a few years back and Bob gave me the same speech, so his consistency was reassuring.
After finding a stove that worked, I told Scott I was interested in purchasing it. The next thing I know, the price I originally budgeted for was now higher.
When I asked Scott about it, he told me, âOh yeah, thereâs also a freight fee. Weâre bringing the stove in from Indiana.â Didnât you know you were bringing the stove in from Indiana before you quoted the price to me? If thereâs an extra charge for that, it should have been put into the price of the stove upfront.
But the freight fee wasnât the only surprise Scott had in store for me. He also said I would have to get MY GUYS and take the stove off of the truck, bring it in and set it up myself. Two different times his colleague with 30 years at the company told me that THEY bring it in and set it up. But now the rookie is telling me Iâd be responsible for taking the stove off of their truck and setting it up myself. Keep in mind avoiding this was part of their sales pitch.
I asked Scott to check with Bob because this must be a misunderstanding. Scott got back to me and claimed they have never offered free delivery and for them to take it off of the truck would be an additional fee!
Do you really want to deal with people who will say whatever they need to just to get the sell?? Do yourself a favor and go...
Read moreHave shopped at the store many times and liked it. Took my daughter yesterday afternoon and the service was awful. The service folks kept helping customers that just arrived while my daughter waited over 20 min and never got any service after asking for help. She gave up and left feeling quite angry about the lack of respect. I was able to talk to a worker from boelter and we agreed to try another visit and try to see if service could return to the excellent service I had received there over many years. I absolutely believe that the apology my daughter received was genuine. I was able to reach boelter but to be honest they never called me. So I will be trying to purchase a bunch of stuff and see if things can be much better. It was explained that the store was over worked and under staffed which I absolutely understand. The folks in the store dont have a way to increase staff instantly when needed. I was told some of the folks that got rapid assistance may have had orders ready to be picked up. So it would be unfair of me to count that as my daughter...
Read moreSuper snooty and unhelpful. Did not feel welcomed. While staff would acknowledge you, it was almost as if you could hear the sigh of relief you didn't want them to help you with anything. Low inventory and over priced to the public. Ace Hardware up the street has the same bakeware products, only nicer. Even ringing up my purchase i felt like i was incredibly inconvenient to the remaining staff left at the end of the day. Don't...
