Like a beautiful woman with no personality. I've given this place a few tries because I love the vibe. But the customer service and quality of coffee just do not mach the aesthetic. Last time for example, I ordered an Americano. It was acidic and under-extracted. I tried to power through it but thought, why am I doing this? I sent it back and, with a dash of self-defensiveness, gave me a fresh cup. It was only slightly better but this time room temp. It's unfortunate because it would be such a great place seeing as Montrose needed a great coffee establishment. But until they hire baristas who are both trained and care about the company's philosophy and reputation they are only going to get patrons who drink Maxwell House. All the best.
6/8/25 Update I thought about giving these guys another go today because i love the atmosphere but I fear a reprise of my last three attempts.
I would love if the owners were to read these reviews constructively and work at adjusting their process and training their baristas and possibly reaching out. That would garner a great deal of respect and trust in their product. Peace...

I absolutely love the reuse of the old regal dry cleaning building (which I believe is landmarked), as it gives the interior a display of mid-century modern rarely seen in coffee shops in the LA basin. Between that and the low desert vegetation and landscaping, it can feel like you’re relaxing at a Neutra, Wexler or Frey house somewhere out in Palm Springs. It’s a nice departure from the brick walls, high ceilings & exposed trusses/ductwork now typical in modern coffee shops. That being said, at some point they really should update the signage to the store name to avoid confusion.
As others have noted, the food can be somewhat expensive, but honestly it’s pretty par for the course for what you can expect to find at trendy cafés in higher income areas across LA these days.
I also recommend parking across the street in the Ross parking lot, as onsite spots are usually taken and street parking...

The owner, manager and the crew are amazing. If you know Food & Beverage, you know that you just can't build a place like this from day one. It takes years and years of working front of the house, back of the house and owning a business to understand a place of such caliber and detail. The baristas are all kind, friendly and professional, The architecture is absolute mid century perfection that opens up into a stone garden / landscape that's sublime in the morning when sipping on your drink. The coffee is sourced from some of the best producers in the industry.
I usually drink an Americano that tastes like coffee, chocolate and fruits but I've had their drip and it goes down like a fine tea, Very well balanced. Also do not skip out on their decaf. It's damn good!
