Walking into Greg’s jewelry shop, you’re immediately greeted by the warmth and friendliness that makes you feel like family – it’s no wonder I fondly refer to him as “Uncle Greg.” Recently, I experienced firsthand the exceptional skill and honesty that sets Greg apart in his craft.

I brought in a ring that was too large for me, hoping for a simple resizing. Greg, with his keen eye for detail, noticed something I had completely missed – the prongs were improperly set by the original jeweler, putting my ring at risk of being lost. Not only did he expertly resize the ring, but he also meticulously fixed the prongs, ensuring its safety and fit. What truly touched me was his decision to preserve the original prongs, a thoughtful gesture that saved me money without compromising the integrity of the ring.

The story doesn’t end there. I entrusted Greg with my precious pearls for cleaning and restringing. When he wasn’t satisfied with the cleaning service’s job, he took matters into his own hands – quite literally. Refusing to settle for less than perfection, Greg brought the pearls to his mother, who lovingly cleaned each of the 75 pearls by hand. This level of dedication and commitment to excellence is a rare find.

I met Greg when my husband and I started shopping for rings and fell in love with one of his unique custom designs. My husband ended up surprising me with that ring and accompanying wedding band. He really enjoyed the process of working with Greg and said that Greg helped walk him through each step of the process and all the considerations when choosing an engagement ring. Since it’s a lowset ring, I wanted to add an additional band on the other side that could “lock” it in place and make it more comfortable. I made the mistake of working with a family friend at first and the band was a disaster. When I brought it to Greg he was extremely helpful in talking through my options and weighing trade-offs. Ultimately I was able to return the other band and work with Greg, which I should have done all along. You cannot beat Greg’s expertise and level of detail! Comparing his work to other rings I own, it is just night and day. Not only that, but he went above and beyond to make my vision come to life despite it being an extremely challenging band to craft with my engagement ring design. It took him far longer than he’d originally planned and he didn’t even charge me for the extra labor. The price was also competitive to the wholesale price I’d paid for the family jeweler, but the quality is far from comparable and he finished it very quickly since he knew our wedding was coming soon. I’m so grateful for the level of care and attention to detail he put into my ring stack and am so happy we found Montrose Jewelers for my rings and my husband’s band. Here we go! - Greg, and his brother, have to be some of the kindest most knowledgeable guys out there when it comes to jewelry. My fiancée and I had visited many jewelers in and around the Glendale Area. No one, and I repeat, no one compares to Montrose Jewelers. From the first time we visited to when I had her custom engagement ring made not only was I served with professionalism but I felt like I was now a part of the Montrose Jewelers family. That is something you do not get going into other shops. Greg, spent countless hours with me going through the specifics of the ring, what we wanted and he worked within my budget the whole time. Not only that, but you can tell that Greg, loves what he does and is proud of each and every piece he crafts. Even going so far as to deconstruct a ring he had already set and recovered the diamond to be used in my fiancées ring. He is a master craftsman, and won’t shy away from showing you his work up-close on a jewelers magnified scope.

I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, she said “Yes!” And I hope you give Montrose Jewelers the opportunity to make an important event in your life just a bit more special. :).
